Game 17: #10 Houston @ UCF (W 69-68)

@pesik Ced Lath IG

Arcenaux dapping up Francis. Looks to be in good spirits

But, i agree we gotta Arcenaux going. Run plays for him. Hes a weapon off the bench.

No way he should only play 10 minutes

Vs Utah, hopefully we get Terrance going. Good opportunity vs their defense

Rewatched the game. Amazing to me that Jwan took 17 shots all close to the rim and he had 9 rebounds but only took two FTs.

That bald ref on the baseline sucks.

Wow what a game. Cryer and Shard for the most part missing in action. What a great game for Francis including 6 for 6 from the FT line. He carried us in the first half. Dominate performance by Jwan in the second half including the game winner.

Don’t remember a game quite like this one. I am glad I forked over the extra $14 to DirectTV so I could watch this game. Would of hated to lose this one. It’s about time we were able to win one of the close ones.

I think Cryer and Sharp will be okay just had off nights but we got to get Arceneaux going. Lately he has been trending in the wrong direction.

Uzan keeps getting better and better. Has not had a turnover in I don’t know how many games. He is not Shead but he brings a few other things to make us a better team. I can see why CKS wanted him.

Kip Kissinger. What a piece of work. They say you know a referee’s name when they’re either really good or really bad.

Road wins are like gold. That’s why I root for the home teams in all games not involving us. You win conference on the road. We’re 3-0.

HOUSTON. STRONG TEXT.

Will have to remember that name in case we get him again. Bald white guy right?

He was terrible. Some of his calls were very questionable as if he had an axe to grind against UH or CKS style of play.

Yeah, that’s him. We’ve had hi for a few games. I never trust his calls. It does seem like he has an axe to grind.

I think TA is just going through the ups and downs of recovering from an injury. He has played much less basketball over the last 12 months and the lack of competitive basketball shows. He needs to work through his inconsistency and his mojo will come back.

He needs to play better defense. Our D breaks down way more often when he’s on the floor.

Is he a transplant from the Big East or is he what would be considered a Big 12 ref? He just reeks of someone that does not like our style of play. Kind of like some of the analysts on ESPN and other biased sports networks.

Mylik got the bench guard minutes yesterday…

Because he was playing better than TA yesterday…

This stretch right here was ridiculous…

This was all BWR.

I rarely if ever text or post during games. I’m
Too busy screaming from
My seat.
I’d miss half the game if I did what many do on
These threads.

People seem to forget TA played 25 minutes and was +25 against WVU. He definitely had a bad day yesterday, but it’s not like he’s been on a slump.

he is in a slump in play… the only reason he got 10mins last game was because the game was close and didn’t want to put a currently struggling player in

only 10mins last game including what likely should have cost us the game

only 6pts vs wvu, 1 late three after the game was over

only 8pts vs kstate, all 8 were late 2nd half points up 20+

only 2pts vs tcu

in the act of impacting the game he is in a slump…it was just last month that people were calling for him to start, few debating him as our best player… he isn’t making the same impact

He had one play where he had a straight line to the bucket and it looked like he could’ve attacked the bucket for a dunk but instead of being aggressive he allowed Thiam to attack him and affect the shot…

I feel like that play is a microcosm of TA… When he’s on & locked in he looks like a first round pick, but he has periods where he’s lackadaisical and his intensity in the game seems to lag.

I also think he’s still a little tentative to attack the rim after his injury…

He played a disappointing game yesterday, but to ignore the impact he had in the West Virginia game is laughable. Take a look at the times he entered the game in both halves, and what happened to WV’s offensive momentum after that

So how are you +25 in 25 minutes if you’re “struggling”. I thought you were above the simple “analysis” of strictly looking at how many points a player scored

If you’re worried about how many points he’s scoring, he did alright vs BYU.

are we blindly following +25? or can we add context… explain the impact beyond that stat? or are we just giving him credit for being on the floor when LJ caught fire…
the defense production was dominant throughout the game … the difference in +/- was when WE started scoring.

let me be clear that Terrance is a great defender! our best perimeter defend (even though its now debatable with uzan, when it wasnt earlier)… but difference in defense wasnt what changed the game. he wasnt iso’d with their best offensive players o defense either

we are talking about being in a slump, mentioning he had a good offensive game 5 games ago doesnt help counter that
