It’s a bad day to be a bird!!!
Interesting. We beat a decent UTSA team on the road, lost to a seemingly decent TT on the road. KU beat Tenn Tech and a seemingly weaker UWV team. I think being at home, and this is suddenly a “must win” game for us, we win. It may be close, but we win.
Yeah, I expect a win.
So good news on the weather side. It was supposed to rain/thunder last night and it did not, and there was a 70% chance of rain and thunder right now as of 1am last night, and now it’s not even projected to rain today. Still listed as a 35% chance of rain on Saturday around 3 but now supposed to rain from 4pm on. So we shouldn’t get an ECU situation! So cross your fingers and hope for clear sky’s!
Weather channel showing only a 24% rain chance Saturday now
If we lose we will be lucky to have 15K for the rest of the season.
Who give a crap!
Its time for a bird sandwich and a side of fried pickles. …hold the feathers.
“Rock chalk lunch special”
Always thinking of the worse
Those highlights also show our defense better show up and play smart. Kansas is no pushover and the original 10 point spread is just ridiculous.
This is our third game so maybe the OL is catching on and maybe our young receivers can finally get some space so Tune can get his passes off faster
I remember at the time that Saban said they got run through “like s*** through a tin horn”.
This has been the biggest surprise for me so far. I thought the pass game would be a juggernaut with the WR additions. Hopefully this is their breakout game
I see our offense breaking out against Kansas. I think Campbell and the running game took a small step forward last weekend (Campbell 5 yards a carry at Tech) and I expect the running game to take another step forward this weekend against a bad Kansas defense. WVU ran for 150 yards against them and had over 500 yards of offense. I see us being able to run the ball enough to move the chains and for our line to handle a bad Kansas pass rush allowing Tune to have a nice day throwing through the air.
Our defense will give up their fair share of yards and points to a well run Kansas offense but at the end of the day they will get enough stops and a couple of turnovers to win the game.
Same thoughts, i was sure we would lean on Tune in the passing game. Dell seems to be the only guy getting open with any regularity and the D is keying in on him. I have liked that the RBs have looked good coming out the backfield. I wish we would reverse our philosophy and use the pass to set up the run.
The RBs have surpassed my expectations since I lowered them after the McCaskill injury. I am happy to hear Campbell is back in time for this one as well. Sure hope we witness a potent offense early tomorrow.
Didn’t they x-ray Campbell after the game? Obviously nothing is broken but still. We know Henry has two hurt ankles. We probably see some Walker this week.
My expectations for Henry and Sneed are only as high as the execution of the O-line. You can’t fight to a draw on the line and expect a 180 lb back to carry for 4 yds a lick.
It’s time to look across that line and start pushing some people in a direction they don’t want to go…i.e. backwards.
I watch other games and it appears that the line is supposed to make holes
Man, I know its easier said than done. But we gotta get after it. When I worked up near Fayetteville I went to a couple of Houston Nutt’s practices just out of curiosity. He was a spokesperson for our company at that time.
I have never seen a coach so rah-rah and focused on O line. I saw this cat run screaming 40 yards to pat an O lineman on the helmet. Then he’d get them in a huddle and they’d chant:
“Hit that line,
Hit that line,
Move that tackle 3 yards at a time!”
Its mind over matter, baby.
Hope we don’t get pantzed at home by Kansas.
I think the new batch of talented receivers hasn’t yet grasped the reads they are required to make for the offense to run smoothly.
