Someone asked DH last week on a radio show about the Run and Shoot, i was kind of surprised that he said he didn’t know anything about it.

There is a difference in knowing it how any of us would know it, and how a coach knows the “rules” of an offense the understand scheme, create and call plays, etc.
Like in the air raid there are principles that guide all of that about how you break up the field, where you can attack the defense, etc.
So yeah he could probably describe it at a high level, but its a whole other thing to “know” the offense at that level

I’m surprised by that, too. Not surprised that Dana admitted it. Surprised because I assumed all offensive minds were geeks about schemes.
