In regards to Elvin I wish we could just let the guy play and not create a spectacle. I think he just wants to be another one of the guys.

The Elvin chants have been cringe for a long time. Agree with Funk, just let the guy play and be a part of the team without turning it into some weird spectacle.

It’s going to be a dog fight… Texas has more talent than any team we have played at home this year. Only Kansas and Iowa State have the God given talent horn has. Along with our Coogs!
Regardless I am pumped up for Saturday and Monday. Even pumped for church Sunday after we beat the Cows

It’s actually kind of weird. If it was just the students, it would be one thing, but I hear people around me talking about him coming in the game when we’re still in the first half.
On the flip side, the possibility of Elvin sightings are keeping some people at the game longer, so there’s that, I guess.
I’m sure the dude would rather people just cheer when he actually does something more than check in to the game. I’ve heard people groan and almost boo when someone else takes a shot and doesn’t pass to him. C’mon.

I play in a work league with the guy who was “Elvin” at UNC for 2 years…
Dude dunked on me with 2 hands last season…

If Elvin is somehow in the game at the eight minute mark of the second half against UT that would be a great sign of a Cougar blow out. I would be ecstatic.

I’d argue Rice did more to keep us out. Rice wouldn’t even play us in any sport for fear of us taking over the city. If it was up to Rice, we would not have joined in the 70s. But as mentioned, UT wanted us in to have some control, so they forced it on Rice

Why is Elvin a crowd favorite?
He’s a marginal walkon talent at best, otherwise he would have a more prominent role on the team.

He has a very nice story
His Dad passed away of cancer less than 2 years ago.
During our AAC days, everytime he was in late, he would hit a 3
Great looking shot. Some walk ons are clumsy as heck out there. Elvin has game. Just doesn’t have the P5 athleticism

Elvin has a good looking shot and obviously he is well liked by the staff and team. And the elephant in the room is that he is white lol.
