Not really. The margins are similar but the raw numbers are not.
Again, UCF shot 33 today. Tech shot 15. Stetson shot 5.

I enjoyed the game until the last 10 minutes. At that point it was free throw galore calling game tight like a 2 point game when it was a 20 point game.

Typical officiating once we started blowing the doors open it became ridiculous. The FM official was terrible.
Even though we probably played our worst game of the season on offense I enjoyed watching the most elite defensive performance I have seen.
It was nearly 30 min before they made their first shot inside the sec.

I am happy for Francis, Wilson and Walker. Francis had a stellar defensive game with some nice dunks, Wilson provided a spark in the first half and Walker drained a three and played good defense. All three have positives they can build on.
Dunn looks like he is still adjusting to the pace of the offense, which is kind of surprising this far into the season. He is very deliberate in his offensive moves and noticeably disrupts the flow of the offense. I am still waiting for his outside shot to come around.

I will ad one this right here, you or someone else said its because of our aggressive defense… except todays game is a great example of why that’s BS. UCF is 7th in Ken Pom defense. They also play very aggressive style defense… and look at the FT discrepancy. Now thin about that fact we have a “home advantage” yet they shot twice as many as us.
Now by itself that would be anecdotal. But we have tons of data that shows referees suck in general, but we also have specific data that shows they don’t’ referee the Coogs evenly.
Do say what. I watched the game and many calls were horrendous and it went right along with the script and when teams have big leads in this conference. Certainly not going to waste my time trying to prove it to you. Great game and a huge challenge coming up on Tuesday.

I think we’re naturally handicapped on free throws. I would say we should be about -6-8 per game due to the fact that we shoot so many 3’s. A disparity of 60-40% is asinine, though. Refs are loathe to call fouls on 3’s. But Roberts is bullied. Tugler was absolutely abused.

Agree. I expect more fouls against us. I also expect the game to be officiated the same way on both sides throughout the game. That’s apparently unrealistic.

Umm… that theory don’t fly.
UCF shot more 3’s. Almost half their shots were threes. They took 23 shots inside the arc, we took 40. They took more than double our FTA.
I will say, I watched a Shead highlight video from the TT game, and most of the time he’s avoiding contact or so quick the opponent can’t touch him.

I said we “should” meaning in a fairly officiated contest. My premise is there is a bias against our defensive style that’s compounded by our high number of 3’s. This is an observation based on the season as a composite.

Incredible defensive effort in the first half. I don’t know that we can play better defense than what we saw today in the first half. Seemed like the Coogs were everywhere on UFC’s side of the court. The UH staff knows UCF’s tendencies and shuts them down! CKS knows what Dawkins wants to establish and CKS takes it away. Is Roberts OK? Nice to see Cryer shoot with confidence and knock down his shots. Nice to see Wilson play well, grab some rebounds, and gain a few extra minutes. Francis is coming on to be the big man we need. On to BYU. Will it be on TV? Go Coogs.
