How many of our fouls were called a shooting foul? Wouldn’t all of those need to be added to their attempts column?
The quotation marks on “should” help my understanding.
But we don’t shoot a lot of threes, we’re #179 in the country in 3 pt FGA per game, so in the bottom half (aka “below average”).
I fall back to the “they hate us cause they anus” theory.
Only if you want to be technical about it.
It’s Saturday night and that kinda math is gonna hurt my head.
For you guys who watched on TV, what did the refs look like and did announcers comment on that. Out of the 42 points scored by the Knights, 24 were scored at the charity stripe. I don’t think I have ever seen a game where 57% of a team’s scoring came at the line.
It got to where I was expecting to get called for a foul while waiting to go into the game.
You apparently didn’t read my post in “Free Throws”, even for just what you can “handle”.
I watched it on tv.
My perception is the announcers thought nothing nepharrias about any of it. I know more than once the analyst mentioned the refs were calling a great game.
It wasn’t perfect, but no game ever is. And I don’t think it was called unfairly overall.
We are freakin incredible defensively and it will always keep us in games. My concern is are we good enough offensively to win a National Championship. I know it was just one game but two guys that that we’re counting on offensively (Sharp + Dunn) gave us a whopping two points today.
UCF shot 16% from the field and somehow only lost by 15. Upon further review, I see how they only lost by 15. The FT disparity is ridiculous.
And this is why I think this is a Sweet 16 team with a ceiling of Final Four. We’re not good enough to win the national title imo. I mean, defensively certainly but there’s two sides of the court.
If we make the final 4 that’s an amazing season. I would take that now. Curious which 3-5 teams do you think are way better and true NC contenders
Kentucky.
I think we can beat UConn.
But with their newest player (Ivisic) who played his first game yesterday….we can’t beat them…I don’t think anyone can.
Currently 18th in offensive efficiency.
Could we lose, absolutely, if Sheads not in the game our offense struggles. Also relying on the 3pt w/ Cryer & Sharp, a poor shooting night could send you home
Need to watch Auburn, North Carolina more to see if they’re legit.
Look at Miami last yr. Got hot at the right time. We didn’t.
Would like to see consistent production from certain guys. Sharp & Dunn in particular. Roberts has gotta get healthy too. Cause tournament time, we’ll probably be playing a 7 man rotation. Ramon maybe a few minutes
In no particular order:
Kentucky (especially with Ivisic)
Purdue (assuming they get past the 15 or 16 seed )
Kansas (even in spite of their recent struggles)
UConn (who hasn’t been at full strength much of the season)
North Carolina
Duke (barely, they look human far too often, such as last night)
Tennessee
And then there are teams like Memphis who we’d be favored to beat but would be a handful for us (though they play with their food way too often and finally got burned for it). Or Arizona if they could ever get their crap together and, speaking of crap, stop crapping the bed. Even FAU has an experienced returning Final Four team, though I favor us because they become more than mortal when they aren’t hitting their 3’s.
Now we can certainly beat any of these teams–for certain–but these are teams (above the last paragraph) I feel are better or at least have higher ceilings than us.
I was surprised by how many empty seats there were for a Saturday day game. It even looked to me like a pretty good number of folks left early as well. This is based on what I could see on ESPN+ from my comfy couch in my warm living room. Guessing the Texans game played a part in that or perhaps the weather or even both?
It was jammed packed until the last 10 min.
I find it sad that our fans would leave early to watch a Texans game, but I was there and it is true as I know several fans who did just that.
And there will still be some morons who complain that we cannot win it all because of Sampson.
Sorry to inform u but Houston is a pro sports team always has and always will be, why do u think we can’t fill our football stadium but even when the Texans suck fans show up
