One of my all time favorites, so many re-watchable movies. In my mind, a pretty good indication of his acting skills and ability to carry a movie.

My favorite will always be Hoosiers.

I second that!

Hoosiers was his “signature” performance in my mind!

He participated in both Operation Beleaguer in China and the Occupation of Japan as a Marine.

Semper Fi!

No foul play suspected… 2 people and a dog don’t die at the same time without something weird happening…

Right, his wife was only 63.
Double suicide sounds like to me.

I enjoyed his portrayal of “Little Bill” in Unforgiven. The sadistic sheriff upholding
the law.

Great actor indeed.

May he rest in peace, so many great roles that he brought to life. I think his role as Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in the French Connection was his best role.

Sir, what narrative are you trying to impress on us? You must wait till all the facts come out. That’s how the satellite rolls. I’m surprised you weren’t flagged, yet.

One of the great actors of my lifetime. His uncredited part in Young Frankenstein was hilarious.

When I heard the news, I immediately thought carbon monoxide.

The so called experts…
In 1956, Hackman began pursuing an acting career. He joined the Pasadena Playhouse in California,[12] where he befriended another aspiring actor, Dustin Hoffman.[12] Already seen as outsiders by their classmates, Hackman and Hoffman were voted “The Least Likely To Succeed”,[15][12] and Hackman got the lowest score the Pasadena Playhouse had yet given.

He was an amazing, truly genius actor. I can’t remember of an actor that could literally play/act everything. Watching his movies you always felt like he was so real, so genuine.
