I started during Kolb/Keenum years. I am chasing that high every season. Ain’t no high like a Cougar high!
Cignetti has very little ties to this region of the country. He was QB coach at Rice in the mid 1980s. Thirty years ago. Most of his experience is east and north. Fritz knows this part of the country well and has lots of relationships.
I don’t buy the inference that UH should have hired Cignetti over Fritz.
No one is saying we should have. I’m responding to the excuses being made that Fritz was hired so late in the process. So was Cignetti. And he took over just as bad of a program. Good thing he wasn’t looking for excuses for this year. Or saw it as a throw away.
This is an unpopular opinion and I don’t like the guy at all but…
Herman (circa 2016) would have a winning record at this point.
This staff is getting too comfortable with losing and losing is infectious.
And he’s doing it in the Big 10! They absolutely crushed Nebraska yesterday. And Indiana is a basketball school!
Yes, it is unpopular. Herman is very close to being fired at FAU.
Can someone tell me what’s up with Parker Jenkins
Matt Rhule was HC at Temple that hotbed of CFB excellence and talent and did very well there, comparatively speaking, was hired by Baylor after the Briles era and scandal’s, had no Texas ties whatsoever or experience recruiting Texas, but did very well at Baylor. Good enough to where he ended being Hired by the NFL Panthers as their HC. If you are a coach and good recruiter that will play out anywhere regardless of the place in the country you’re from and go to.
I liked the Fritz hire, and still do. But these games of not even being competitive are getting very old.
UNLV

Iowa State
Kansas
Didn’t even look like we belonged on the field in those games.
Meanwhile, IU just beat Nebraska 56-7 or something. Lol
We will see if Indiana guy keeps this up…
Yes. That is why I mentioned circa 2016.
2024 circa Herman is 0-3 conference, 2-5 overall at FAU in 12th place in the American. Let’s forget about that guy.
Regardless of how good or bad the team is The Couch Potato Coog Tradition must live on!
Couch Potatoes For Coogs!
100% correct.
Cignetti has been a winner everywhere he’s been and has yet to have a losing season.
He’s the coaching genius that transformed JMU. His record is 126-35 over 14 seasons.
His success has been with programs in Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and now Indiana.
Indiana is 7-0. If a person can turn around Indiana, he’s another Houdini.
We need to support our team so that recruits will want to come here in the future. If no one is watching, good recruits are less likely to come.
I also watch the games because I want to see who are potential stars next year.
I hear you but most importantly, this is coach Fritz’s first year
No, they are professionals representing themselves. They need to earn our support.
I’m still confident CEF will get things turned around.
I get it. But I don’t mind fans getting impatient. The administration has continued to screw this up and some people are getting tired of it. I don’t blame Fritz with where we are.
