How about the President of operations for the Rockets? Gretchen Sheirr - Pro & college background, NCAA scholar athlete. Connect the dots with TF. Probably would be a salary raise for her and a great hire for UH. History in Houston with ticketing, promotion & corporate sponsorships. First women AD hire for the school.
This account regularly posts lists of random rankings that are researched via their backside. Any list from this site is less than worthless. Who knows what criteria were used (if they even use criteria)?

Using BigGameBoomer as a source for anything reputable is hilarious. Not saying it is wholly incorrect but BGB is just a guy or guys at a bar talking sports. They do no real research and generally talk out of their azz.

How about an Asian Amputee woman, we don’t have enough of those. Hiring for the sake of diversity is stupid, get the best candidate regardless.

That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve heard. We need to hire the AD the same way we should hire everyone – based on ability and proven results elsewhere. Ethnicity should never be a determining factor, or any factor for that matter. If that person happens to be in an ethnic minority, so be it.

We need a marketing guru to join whoever they hire. That function of athletic department has been really poor under Pezman.

As a marketing guy, UH has always lacked in that area. Low budget and folks who used bandaid for results.

Dickey, Currie, Hocutt, Barnes…some pretty good ADs being mentioned. I think RK and Fertitta already have an idea who they want, but NCAA rules are very specific about job openings and all interested parties being allowed to interview. So we will go through the process and see how we handle it.
Currie is at his Alma Mater and Hocutt has a better gig at present and would be a downgrade for him. I don’t think a sitting AD from a school in the current P4 without a clear and distinct connection to UH is gettable.
DIckey and Barnes should be on the list. Along with Selmon, Burda and Campos that’s a strong pool to pick from among those who have been mentioned
The UTSA AD seems solid. Seems like it could be Dickey’s to lose. We’ve hired rather solid ADs with Rhoades and Hunter. Maggard was a vet. Pezman an alum who ushered us into Big 12. Maggard was quite cost conscious.
