Sounds like a similar situation to Ed Oliver signing on the premise of his HS DL Coach joining the staff.

Cool. We can definitely find a place for him on staff

Willie and MB go way back and obviously have a connection. I wouldn’t have an issue with this in any case but this one makes even more sense.

And, pretty sure we hired Meekins the year before we signed Ed Oliver.

Let’s go!!!

Michael Bishop’s connections in the state of Texas run deep. We benefit by having him on staff.

I thought I saw on their website that the schools head coaching job was vacant, but Bishop was still there on another part of the site. Maybe it was a premonition. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bishop played for CWF and has a great relationship with him…Good coach and a former great QB at Kansas State…Good pick up for the Coogs!!

Michael Bishop was a great QB at KSU.

he’s been trying to get into college coaching for years - I thought he had a great gig at Legacy but a non-traditional HS means football will be off and on, amongst other stuff

hope he has a meaningful role not just some token analyst

This is not even close to the Ed Oliver “situation “.

This is ignorant. Keisean could have gone anywhere in the country. He’s said from day one it’s the relationships he’s built with Shawn Bell and Willie Fritz.

BTW, Shawn Bell is an awesome guy……I think he’ll be a head coach one day.

Funny enough I was looking at his twitter a few days ago and it was littered with UH retweets from both football and basketball going back years it seems. For a K-State great he sure loves the University of Houston.

Hey, it’s signing day. Why not players AND coaches? Michael Bishop is a great add.

Fritz is playing chess, when others are playing checkers.

the guys that played for him at Blinn have a special bond - Kansas State put him on the national map but someone gave him a chance first

but even if its a sign him, scratch your back hire it happens all the time anyway for some guys to get on the college level quickly who aren’t going to waste time trying to be a GA, low-level analyst, quality control, etc. -

Joey McGuire
Art Briles
Jeff Traylor

all come to mind

I’ve never met him but he seems like a good guy. I was really worried that SHSU would have made him their coach last year. Glad he is still on our staff.

Baylor fans were definitely not happy about Shawn Bell being on cougars side line last weekend.

Yep

I believe Michael Bishop will be coaching QBs…

Bishop was an GREAT Athlete who could play QB, very much like Keisean.

Couldn’t have handpicked a better Mentor.

But, I guess Willie did…

LOL

The Bonds, and Trust, between ALL of them is through the roof…

You think he’ll unseat Bell, who was a major draw for KH?
