Today, in 1968, Houston beat #17 Ole Miss in Jackson. It was Archie Manning’s first season as the Rebel QB.

The big win over Michigan State put Houston on the map. The wins over all those SEC teams back then showed the MSU game wasn’t a fluke. Archie has always been complimentary toward us. One of fondest memories was to attend the the Archie Manning Gala held by the Houston Touchdown Club and I digress.

The first UH sporting event of any kind that I ever attended was the 1965 Ole Miss game in the Astrodome. The Cougars won 17-3, our first win ever over Ole Miss.

Couple of days late, but this required a deep dive into the archives.
It’s a tribute to our defense keeping us in the game, but it also highlights Utah’s defense which is also very good.
I don’t think we win that game without Zeon regardless though
Zeon had a great fourth quarter. That fourth down conversion run might have been the offensive play of the game.

Also, Associate AD Kelly Marchbanks recently asked for UH fan feedback and ideas - he will join us to discuss what he’s received and what UH’s plans are to implement those ideas.
