People argued with me after ISU game about my comment on how we have scoring droughts. It is not all about the opposing team having a good defense. Sampson just doesn’t like a dynamic offense. He doesn’t like faster tempos either. We have the talent to score more but he restricts them by design. I just wished we ran better sets to exploit our opponents more. I also wish he would change up tempo sometimes to keep opposing defenses honest. They sit on our basic sets so easily.

The concerning part to me is the 2 freshman are our 2 best players now. Flemings is the only one who can consistently get a bucket and Cenac is fighting for the boards and doing the dirty work jojo was expected to. We dont have the culture warrior on this team that we usually have (2021 Deeky, 2022 Fabian, 2023-25 Jwan). I thought sharp could be that guy this year

Ain’t going to happen as long as CKS is here.
He has been to 3 Final Fours and came up empty each time.
Heck it was a miracle we even made it last year.

Flemings is just the best shooter on a team of bad offensive players. Sharp can hit 20 threes in a row in practice and can’t hit anything when we really need him to. Tuglar should only play if we are outscoring the other team considerably due to his defense. Otherwise we need someone who can provide offense at that position. Sampson better make some changes in the offense fast or this is going to be an early exit from the tournament.

They aren’t bad offensive players. This bunch has talent. Sampson’s system doesn’t really allow for much beyond ISOs, post ups, and jump shots.
There is very little movement and passing relative to more dynamic offenses like Arizona and Alabama.

Yeah we should go out and hire one of the coaches out there that has been to three final fours and won a national championship. Let Sampson know this is unacceptable.

Kelvin is the best coach anyone reading this will see at UH in their lifetime so if not enjoying what he has done then it is only going to get worse to some degree to be seen.

If yall actually knew basketball, I think a lot of you would realize the offense is not actually the problem. Hitting the shots is the issue. We’re running the same offense today we ran against Arkansas. Sure looked good back then…because players made wide open shots. It literally comes down to making shots. Shoot, making layups.

At least Az screens away from the ball to give more than one option. All we do is screen up top and try and make it work.
I dunno. I saw weak inside game with clumsy hands. Arizona is just that good though with those 30 year old professional European players. Tough nut to crack, could be their year.
