As good as CWF turned out to be at Tulane, we would never hire a HC straight out of Blinn or Sam Houston. We thought we had a B12 coach ready to step in and lead us to greatness.

Interview Summary:
- Ultimate Goal is to win the National Championship
- Will have the best facilities in the Big 12 once the current construction is done (22,000 SF Weight Room, Car (body) Wash, Cool Rooms, etc.). Not sure if schools will be investing in facilities moving further.
- Heavy push for NIL. Big event of August 9TH with former players and others.
- All Coaches must love to recruit. Only had SIX HS players signed for the 2024 class when he arrived. Had to focus on portal due to fill in the spots because very few P4 level HS players were available
- ONE out of every SIX college educated person IN Houston is a Coog. We need to do a better job of engaging them into UH. 200,000+ alums in the Houston metro.
- UH is a Tier ONE Research University with 48,000 students and sits in a Power Conference. No excuses!
- 100% Graduation rate while at Tulane. Plans to stress academics at UH to get to that level here.
- Plans to play a lot of players this season to see how they perform “when the lights are on”
- Best Depth on Defense is Defensive Line
- Wants to Win every game but this is a step up for him also. Talent level is better than people think.
- 5 Keys. Only named 3 (1. Win the Turnover Battle) (2. Run Game- Rushing and stopping the run) (3. DISCIPLINE! Coogs don’t beat Coogs)

I’m more convinced by the day that after we have a transition year this year (4-8 or so) Fritz will have us rolling in .500+ seasons every year until he leaves/retires.
Coach Fritz is the right coach UH FB needs at this time in history. We are Blessed.
