Truth. It’s a long, long way from that Army bowl game debacle to an 8+ win UH FB season record. That would be a huge step in the right direction.
However, some folks on here seem to be delusional and don’t seem to understand why we can’t schedule and beat loaded out-of-conference teams such as LSU and Clemson.
Yes he did. Tore it up until a knee injury finished his season. I forget which game it was, but that was kind of the start of the injury bug that hit our D two years ago.
While I’m at it, I don’t get why a coach would punish a player for not “meshing” or “relating” to the coach well. As long as the player is not disrespectful, he should play if he’s good enough. Chambers was definitely good enough.
I hope Isaiah goes on to have a long and prosperous career in the NFL if that’s what he chooses. That would cause people, the media I hope, to ask Holgorsen some uncomfortable questions about his lack of snaps last year in spite of his high productivity.
As 230rocks stated he was having very good season under CMA until he got injured. I don’t know anything on why he didn’t play more under CDH, I was perplexed as the next person. Him and Lark were the head scratchers. Oh well!
At least get it right if you are going to hate on Holgorsen. We dropped a lot of passes when Lark was playing the prior season and it was not the first coach he had been in the doghouse with. Just this one was not Kendal and held him accountable.
We sure can’t beat them if they won’t schedule us, but I would surely like the chance to play some of those championship caliber teams. In a few years you don’t know how good we will be. To me it would be better to play the national champion and lose in a hard fought close game than to blow out Podunk U.

I think when she said that, there was an asterisk at the end of that sentence. It most likely meant “we fire coaches who go 8-4 and in the event circumstances don’t support a complete meltdown in team composure”. Applewhite didn’t have a single excuse for being confused and losing the team; CDH did, he is trying gain their buy in.
There might still be some kids on the roster who haven’t bought into his coaching demands, so 8-4 can be ok, but another 4-8 season could make year 3 his last.
I do believe everyone involved knows the stakes, and will find a way to win. I think we are conference champions at the very least this season. The irony in all that is it could be done at 8-4. Lol
Isn’t his buyout some ridiculous amount? I feel like his exit is contingent upon that dollar figure. I remember Tillman saying “He is stuck with us for awhile and we are stuck with him.”
If he does get fired though, they could always go and hire the guy who protested at Dana’s press conference. Lol

Yup it’s pretty high. From what I read here it goes down significantly after year 3. I could be wrong…but I’m also one of the guys who would love to see him succeed and stay.
Funny, but no thanks to coach protest. Please let’s not hire another Applewhite…aka a “connected” coach with no idea on how to run a D1 football program.
And, to be fair, we do fire coaches for going 8-5. Our last 2 coaches were fired after 7-5 (they won the bowl game to get to 8-5) and 8-5.
That never meant we would do it after the first year or even the second. That comment was also when our program was solidly heading in the right direction.
Now, if Dana is 8-5 in year 3-4 and things aren’t looking up. He might not make it. Not this year after doubling his win total from the year before.
