Been a very good hitter for a very long time. Even with sort of slow start he’s doing ok.
Yuli rubbed all the No power on him i guess.

Edit: slow being relative being he had a hit in first 10 gms.

He’s definitely a defensive downgrade, but he’s good enough, and his offense has more than made up for it.

I think in the long run his offense WILL make up for it……but so far I am underwhelmed with what he is doing from the clean up spot….I’d like to see more than two-out singles.

Might also want to check out what old washed up Yuli is doing….hhmm.

.666 OPS which isn’t much better than Yuli last year (in what was a really rough season).

When Brantley and Altuve come back, Abreu probably won’t be in the clean up position. I see him batting 5th or 6th in the lineup.

Assuming both Brantley and Altuve are highly productive upon their return, Abreu will be a valued player in the middle/bottom third of the lineup.

Just for fun….

Altuve 2nd
Peña SS
Bregman 3rd
Alvarez LF
Tucker RF
Abreu 1st
Brantley DH
McCormick CF
Maldonado C

In the words of Keith Jackson……

Whoa Nelly!!

All looks good but I would switch Pena & Brantley. MB is a proven consistent hitter to 10+ yrs. Just can’t see him hitting 7th. Jmo though. Getting those 2 back will for sure lengthen the line up 1-9.

Yordan will most likely stay 3rd….Dusty likes him to get up in the first inning and have as many PA’s as possible……one thing I actually agree with him about.

And Brantley will bat 2nd.

Dusty also thinks you need to go left, right, left, right….

And Pena doesn’t put the ball in play enough to bat 2nd anyway.

But Dubon does.

You, sir, are casting rocks into the gurgling underbelly of Mt Pollard.

Dubon is riding high at the moment.

I do not deny it.

If you have a lineup of Altuve, Peña, Bregman, Brantley, Alvarez, Tucker, and Abreu and don’t lead the league in RBI’s something is wrong.

We’ll see how that works when he faces real pitching….I could hit .200 off the last 4 or 5 tomato cans……maybe

Funk… scoot Pena out of the 2 spot. Not happening. Being still young way better for him hitting around 7th.
