Pretty impressive outing.
Granted its one outing and it was against the Rangers.
But still, it was impressive.
I think the kid has a future lol
TEX is a very good team offensively.
Pretty good eyeâŠâŠ

I didnât read up in the comments (so I donât know if this has been mentioned) but Brown grew up in Detroit and Verlander was his idolâŠapparently after his outing, Verlander came up to him and fist bumped him, saying, âWelcome to the big leagues, man- nice job.â
Iâd say he had a pretty exciting day yesterday.
I want Judge to keep hitting homers and the Yankees to keep losing. When the time comes his contract is gonna wipe out their balance sheet.
I donât think they have a balance sheet. They print money.
What do yall think about the new rules MLB has approved for next season? 15 second pitch clock with no runners on and 20 with runners on. Also a rule basically banning shifts. Teams will be required to have two fields on either side of 2nd base with their feet in the dirt.
Gotta bring steals back into the game. Not every team can afford multiple power hitters, but speed guys you can get. Billy Hamilton, Myles Straw, etc.
Hopefully thats a way to produce more runs across the league
I got tired of the shift. A rocket up the middle should be a hit, but oh no its not, cause we have 4 infielders on the right side. Screw that. And sorry, power hitters arent gonna take a single or bunt to beat the shift. Theyâre up there to hit bombs and pull the ball if they can. So im glad its gone.
Ive watched alot baseball and pitchers have had their way. Tons of strikeouts. Well they got rid of spidertac. Now the pitch clock. Im sure thatâll certainly hurt pitchers stats, but its good for the game
Bases biggerâ-Good
No shiftââ-Heâll yeah!!! Yordan will probably hit 20 points higher next yearâŠâŠ what most people are overlooking is that infielders must also start on the dirtâŠâŠ this prevents the second baseman from playing shallow right field which is huge.
Surprised it did not effect the IFRâ- 90% of fans think the infielder must be on the dirt for an umpire make that callâŠ. That call can actually be made 10-20 feet into the grass.
The pitch clockâ-eh, Iâm one that doesnât really gripe about the length of the gameâŠ.the only thing that ever bothered me was when a pitcher threw over to first incessantlyâŠâŠitâs not even about possibly picking off the runnerâŠ.itâs the pitcher not mentally being ready to make that next pitch when you see the throwing over 4-5 times in a row.
Post of the baseball year.
Note: The baseball year is an ancient calendar year that begins around present day April and ends around mid October. It is celebrated by lunatics that will ignore their familyâŠfor just one more inning.
If McCormick is gonna start contributing from the plate he picked a good time. Lance with 2 ER in 7. Strong
I hate that they want to change everything about the game. I donât care about the new bases, whatever. I hate that they are taking away the shift. I think they should at least allow a partial shift where infielders can shift within the infield and outfielders within the outfield. The pitch clock kind of pisses me off. lol I bet a lot of these changes are suggested by people who probably never played the game or casually watch it. When I go to an Astros game, Iâm not in a hurry. Iâm there to take in and watch baseball.
I agree about tradition but I hate the shift. But youâre talking to a guy that hates the designated hitter. I thought baseball was better when everyone had to contribute on both sides.
In fact, in all my days of playing Colt League, HS, and American Legion I never once saw a shift past the traditional infield boundaries. The closest was when a SS or 2nd baseman would drop back into the outfield.
Itâs not like Iâm even in love with the shift. I just hate that they are mandating teams not to do it. Just for the enjoyment of some dude watching on the couch at home.
I will say banning the shift seems pretty weak. Its basically rewarding hitters for failing to adjust. I mean imagine if the NBA upnand banned the full court press. The other rules i dont think i mind.
I donât love the shift banning either. I feel like you should be able to put your 7 guys (other than pitcher and catcher) anywhere you want. They found a smarter way to play defense and now itâs being taken away. Maybe we should not let capable hitters hit the ball in multiple directions either. Lol
That said, most seem to have a different perspective and this is clearly about the fans. So be it. Iâm interested to see if SS/2B arenât running across when the pitch is made to get into position.
I donât like the shift for two reasons: first, I donât think players at that level should need it and, second, it can skew an infielders fielding percentage. If a playerâs coverage area is three yards per side it seems like he has a mechanical fielding advantage over a 2nd baseman that never fields âwith company.â
I know its not done on every at-bat but some teams do it a lot.
I could just as easily say that a hitter at that level shouldnât be impacted by it.
