Contreras should have never been in the game….it was 4-0 with two innings left to play defense….

Yes Abreu sucked but it should have NEVER gotten to that point.

I dunno, man - getting the ball to Abreu to start an inning at the bottom of the lineup with a 2-run lead should be a pretty safe bet. I think those are the first runs he’s given up this year.
I get that….my point is it should not have a 6-4 game ever….it should have been 4-0 or 4-1 headed to B9.
I’m not arguing that Abreu was horrible….he was.
But this game should have never been a save situation game.

Hopefully either Whitley, McCuellers, or even Orr will be good to go soon….then you don’t have to roster guys like Contreras.
In a world of not-hot starts, the Astros offense is basically dead last.
I will stand by my prediction this is a middle of the pack in a bad division team. I want that to be not true because I can’t stand the thought of a meaningless MLB season. Aside from MM it’s one of the things I most look forward to.
What would MOTP look like in this division at the All Star break? 34-47? I kinda don’t think it will track that badly but who knows.

This team could be just as good. We’ll see.
I like the Walker addition full stop. Disappointed in his start. Not incredibly concerned. I was not a huge fan of the Parades addition. But .235 is above the mean and median so I can’t completely complain. No HRs to the Crawford Boxes yet. And that was his trick we were told. I was always concerned about our pen.
I would add that Walker is around .350 below his career OPS so far. Lets hope this start is not the reflection of his age beginning to show.

I saw yesterday that Melton is back from his injury. Now we’re closer to seeing him getting a couple of ABs every 6 games with the big club. 
If it does go South then we can trade Framber,Caratini,Paredes and a reliever or two for a handful of nice prospects….
I love following the farm so I got that going for me.

The pen is actually pretty good.
Contreras is not an MLB pitcher, get him gone.
And it looks as though Tayler Scott woke up and remembered he has average stuff at best.
Take those two out and Abreu’s implosion and the pen has been really good.
King and Okert especially….by the way, anyone notice we have FOUR lefties out there? Not sure the Astros could ever say that….
Side note….If Blanco gets ripped again tonight the jig is up.
