I’m just glad Yordan is getting a rest. Now watch Espada put him in the bottom of the 8th with two outs and first base open.
Mariners continue to suck. Rangers are on fire. If they win in Arizona tonight they’re almost statistically tied with Seattle for second…
The Mariners collapsing down the stretch is like clock work. Worst franchise in the sport.
There’s a story that on the grand slam pitch, Salazar “pushed the wrong button” to the pitch call. I don’t know…
It was said he gave the sign for Framber to step off and do a reset and he threw the pitch anyway.
Of course it was….Espada got them on the same page for the press.
Here’s the video, so bush. Valdez ignores the step off and then crosses up Salazar. Definitely on purpose.

Those two pitches are going to live on in negotiations with other clubs. So f-- child-like.
Framber didn’t like being “shown up” by Salazar. And it compounded when the grand slam happened.
Framber is a head case that should have been gone last offseason. He definitely crossed Salazar up on purpose.
And now we know why Maldy had to play so much. Nothing bigger than a starting pitcher’s ego.
I think he’s one of those guys who needs an established veteran on the pitching staff (or catcher) to get in his kitchen and keep him straight. It’s not a coincidence that he was at his best when JV was on the team.
Maldy*
Fixed it for you
Maybe he just needs a catcher that kind of scares him. No way he would have done that to MM…,ever.
And anyone that says Salazar should have caught that ball just tells me you never played a day of baseball in your life. M
If he was expecting a breaking ball that started at the belt and broke late. But instead got a fastball coming 20 mph faster that stayed straight. No one is ever catching that. And such a bi*** move from Framber. F*** that guy.
Framber is a head case and always has been. That was a bush league move by him. Someone needs to get in his ear (Correa) and let him know that is unacceptable.
Valdez, Salazar shake off post-grand slam cross-up: ‘We’re good’
“When asked how he could call for a pitch though Salazar was pushing the buttons on the PitchCom, Valdez said, “It wasn’t necessary that I called it. It was just the pitch I had in mind. He called for a curveball, but I was already in mind that I was going to throw a sinker so that’s what I threw and that’s what happened.””
I have been a Framber fan since day 1. Even when he was early in his career, with all of that movement, bright days were in his future. He can be unhittable at times (and has been). But his antics the last 4 - 5 games has totally turned me off. I can’t wait for him to not be on our roster. Let him be somebody else’s problem.
The dead give away was that he turned around and walked off rather than immediately putting his hands up and motioning he was sorry.
Grand slam or no slam, the O scored ONE run. The Astros seem to be running out of gas offensively. Too many shutouts and one run games for a contending team. Two weeks ago they were shutout three consecutive games.
As far as Framber is concerned, he is talented, but he is plagued with fatigue or a lack focus and/or discipline, which has contributed to his frustration.
He’s given up 27 runs in the past 35 innings. OUCH!!
His response, after the pitch that hit Salazar, appears to me to be non chalant, but Salazar’s lack of reaction to attempt to catch the pitch was also puzzling.
Maybe it’s time to trade Valdez, or let him go through free agency. He’s too experienced to be this erratic at a time when contending teams are approaching the stretch run.
Past the deadline, can’t trade….but some guy on here was saying to trade Framber last year or this past winter because he was going to be a free agent
….hhmm
We were never going to sign him to a big extension because he is a head case….like others have said, at times he is ridiculously good.
Remember the quality start streak he had last year?
But we will get a comp pick for him when some desperate team gives him a big contract.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t go full meltdown before then.
