The Yanks and M’s getting bounced in the first round would be nice.

I think the Mariners getting bounced would be awesome….they talked a lot of :poop: about how the Astros were done and they were running the division now….so 9 years of dominance by us….and in their first division title they were to lose right away….lol.

Back to the kiddie table for them and the Astros put them back in their place next year.

Also, in a season with so many Astros injuries.

I wouldn’t mind that. Although, I would hope that the tigers advance. I don’t want to World Series trophy to possibly be in Canada lol.

I’m gonna list my choices in order of hatred:

Yankees
Phillies
Dodgers
Cubs
Seattle
Blue Jays
Brewers
Tigers

So I guess I’m a Tiger fan.

Note: I lived in Milwaukee for a brief time. And while Wisconsin people are the most miserable and self-irritating lot on the face of the earth, I found Milwaukee fun in a disheveled, rusty, frozen, perpetually drunk and angry sort of way.

Anyone but Yankees and Dodgers please. And I say that as someone who lives two neighborhoods from Dodger Stadium.

Kinda want Toronto v Milwaukee cuz the networks would hate that.

Exactly, need a fresh face or three.

Would love to get Brantley off the couch.

And the fact that Cintron has managed to hoodwink people into keeping him at the major league level for any period of time is one of life’s great mysteries.

Should the Astros make a play for Munetaka Murakami?

Looking for diverse points of view!

Cintron was with the Astros from 2017 to 2025, throughout the championship run.

Suddenly he’s not up to the challenge?

Perhaps it has more to do with losing franchise players than hitting instruction.

Replacement players haven’t panned out. Others can’t stay healthy. There is more to the calculus of team failure than replacing position coaches.

Crane should review Dana Brown’s performance in addition to the team’s hitting instructors.

He’s actually only been co-hitting coach since 2019, but I see your point. Sometimes, a team just needs to make a change. Over time, the Astros’ plate approach has deteriorated to the point where it was among the worst in the league this year. That’s a coaching thing more than a talent issue.

It certainly isn’t ALL on the coaches, but they’ve been a constant presence over the last couple of years, and the trends are pointing in the wrong direction.

Here is a true gripe about a non-competitive balance in Major League Baseball. All the big names to leave Japan and come to the states sign with west coast clubs or Yankees/Red Sox on east coast. I wish the MLB would step in and do this:

A lottery system for high profile Japanese players should go into effect. How many balls a ball club gets depends on where they rank in team payroll. So if the Marlins are DFL in payroll, they get 30 balls, Baltimore 29, Pittsburgh 28, and so on. The lottery is done and that team has the opportunity to sign that player at what the market is set at for him.

So let’s say the Pirates get first option to sign Japanese free agent and the market value is 6 years $250MM, then Pirates have first right of refusal. If Pirates meet the market rate, then there is a Player opt out clause after year 2 of the contract and he can go anywhere he wants.

The Astros not having a heavy Japanese community and their geographical location will never attract a Japanese player unless they offer 30-40mm over market value.
