That’s my player.
Espada and Brown will trade him to the Giants for some banged up tomato can.
With a page of cards like that, I would pose nude for Jack.
The upside of the downside of the Pena injury is that Correa could be the opening day SS. We’ll take it.
Don’t forget we have Nick Allen who can almost hit it out of the infield.
Vazquez back. Good signing
I actually don’t like this one at all……he’s had a 60+ OPS the last three years….thats way worse than Maldy’s time with the Astros if you can believe it.
I think Sanchez handles the staff well , sans Framber and he hits better as well.
If they want to have him in AAA as insurance fine, but not at the sake of Sanchez.
And Janak is closer than I thought.
I’ll take your word for it. My memory of Vazquez might have some mythology woven into it. I was always happy when Maldy was on the bench
I like him as insurance and he’s an easy familiar face.
But I don’t expect much out of him and hope we don’t need him.
Yeah, his offensive production now is actually worse than what Maldonado was giving us in his last days. I’d rather see one of the minor league guys get reps before CV. There’s a good reason why he was still available.
Imai looked really good last time out….got a bunch of whiffs….he is looking real.
JP France….not so much.
Hunter was filthy today.

Christian Roa may have been a sneaky good signing by DB, especially with Pearson having elbow issues….
Former 2nd round pick has been up to 98.4 mph this spring.
This is a pure nostalgia post. I saw these pictures today and it was a flashback to when I went to games as a kid and college student. Standing in line was hotter than Hell, but you got to hang out with other baseball fans and talk shop a little bit. And those prices…I watched a lot of baseball from the cheap outfield seats.
Great post Coogman- those were great times…I remember deciding late afternoon to go see the ‘Stros, paying $4-$5, and you’re there. No need for much planning at all.
Fortunately, I was able to attend the first exhibition game alone vs Yankees when I was 15 yrs old.
My Dad & Uncle dropped me off outside the parking lot North gate. Free ticket.
Astros won.
Mantle HR. Nellie Fox winning hit.
A great memory.
I used to live on Holly Hall right off of Fannin. When the Astros weren’t on TV, I’d walk across the street, buy a cheap outfield ticket, then go sit wherever I wanted.
Used to live at Holly Hall apartments as well. Larry Dierker and Bill Worrell were regulars at the club at the apartments after the games.
Remembering the $5 pavilion tickets, even though we at least 15 or 16, they never questioned our age. Also, we discovered if you went into the last bathroom stall in the pavilion, you could crawl under into the last stall in the reserved section. We weren’t quite as concerned about sanitation issues back then as we might be now.
Great times!
