Not sure Fielder inherited the family All-Star DNA, but his OPS shows potential for a 21 year old.
Glad we don’t have LMC Jr. and Colton Gordon in the organization anymore.
IMO, Fielder is less of a risk for the Astros than Lance and Colton are for Milwaukee.
If Jadyn had great potential, I doubt the Brewers would have traded him.

He went undrafted a couple of years ago. He’s far from a top prospect.
But we didn’t exactly give up much other than a big salary that we are helping with.

Yeah, he is doing okay in “A” ball but at almost 22 years old….eh
We have some younger guys killing it in the same level that are 2-3 years younger for perspective.
I’m honestly impressed they got another human being back and not just “cash considerations “.

Getting the Brewers to take McCullers, even at half price was a Dana masterstroke. But like all Dana masterstrokes it will probably be a dud when he tries to add players.

The problem with trying to make a trade like that is that there probably isn’t a single organization out there who has the tradeable talent to make it work. A theoretical trade involving a theoretical team is kind of a pointless exercise, imo.
The Brewers and Dodgers have the talent to make that trade.
If the Brewers added Yordan that might be what helps them beat the Dodgers.
The Pirates and Tigers are possibilities as well.

The guys who need to move keep getting hurt.
Honestly, there’s no amount of trades that will fix what’s broken with this organization. They abandoned what worked when Crame cleaned house after ditching Click. They’re lost.
This is why I’m adamantly against trading Yordan. It would be a complete waste. Beyond that, I don’t remember the last team that traded a generational hitter and turned it into a championship. This front office doesn’t have the chops to do that.

When you look at the Astros payroll, this is one of the most underachieving teams in the league. Injuries are obviously a huge factor, but poor roster decisions over the last 3 years have really sunk them.
This team still might make the playoffs, and the pitching will be good enough to win a series, assuming at least one of Blanco or Wesneski contributes. But that’s probably their ceiling with so many low-.200s hitters in the lineup and an inconsistent bullpen.

In regards to the injuries, more than half have been soft tissue related….are they going to happen every now and then sure….but the hammys and obliques that are constant are just ridiculous.
We have to lead the league in these type of injuries.
The organization does not have a handle on this at all.
If I had a Ferrari I would make sure it was tuned right every day before I took it out.
Dana doesn’t mind them out with bald tires and no oil change.
