Yes I know that, I was just making a point of how both weren’t at Houston

That
 makes no sense at all

UH fans are by far the wackiest in rationale. Last year’s ForeverCoogs team had a PG who never played at UH, but I just read a 87-post back n forth about Caleb.

Checked the UH TBT roster. Looks like Mylik Wilson has been added

Projected Starters
*Galen Robinson Jr
*Rob Gray Jr
*Mylik Wilson
*Devin Davis
*Devonta Pollard

Bench
*Caleb Mills
*Nijal Pearson
*Jeremy Hollimon

A few more bigs & we got a title contender

Wilson turned into Jordan mindset during garbage time so won’t be surprised to see him take a lot of shots.

Well the pg that never played for UH never quit on his team
.so let’s compare apples to apples.

I’m not trying to start an argument but didn’t t Mills transfer out during an ankle injury? If I recall correctly he wasn’t even playing when he transferred.

Quote “This decision allows me to play closer to home and is best for me and my family.”

I don’t see how this is a quitting on his team. Maybe if he didn’t get injured perhaps he would have stayed? Hard to say. But I do think he made his decision to transfer based on being injured. I don’t see how that is quitting. But that’s my opinion.

mylik over mills starting? with galen also starting???
i get that we are upset at mills

@pesik Mills 1 yr since that injury.

We haven’t seen him play since. I hope he looks recovered

fractured patella (kneecap)

Our era values loyalty and commitment - these kids have bounced around from AAU to AAU and got unlimited transfers by the ncaa and their peers don’t care so I doubt they’ll have an issue with someone quitting these days and coming back

he did quit the team
he quit after he came back from the injury and was on the bench

he played as bench, went home for winter break, didn’t come back
team announced he would be out on personal leave, sampson noted he was looking forward to him coming back

a few days later announced he was transferring
 he definitely quit

But I have never personally held it against Mills, because being honest I’ve always felt that his family played more of a role in that than him (left when he was home for new years), because he did an interview right before he left about how he was looking forward to playing a big role for this team and helping us contend. I just believe his fam saw him more of a star player being the preseason player of the year, but yet coming off the bench. So I think they influenced his hand on that. Not to mention he wanted to play PG, which we weren’t even giving him ball handling roles.

I know some people hold grudges against him, but I don’t. One, you have to do what you feel is best for your career. And secondly, I believe you are free to identify as whatever you want to post graduation. I remember after he left, he would always repost things about the coogs because he was really, really close with Sasser, and both of them would just constantly hype each other up on social media. And I remember even after he left, there was an Instagram story of both of them FaceTiming each other in their opposing locker rooms. If he sees himself as a Coog, I see him as a Coog. I believe you should be able to identify as whatever you want.

Note that there is a Memphis team, North Carolina team and there are two different Florida teams and yet he chose to be with the Coogs. let old wounds heal. it was distasteful how he left but its time to let old wounds heal. if he wants to be part of the community i welcome it

The prodigal son has returned.

If you look at his story, i feel some sympathy. Season ending injury in his Senior Year.

Hes 24 yrs old, about to be 25. Hope he figures things out.

Saying he didn’t quit and taking quotes that appeared to not fit his narrative is wrong. He did quit but at the same time if he is willing to come back here and face the music I am all for it.
I am so happy Rob Gray has gotten this started. It serves as a catalyst to get our former players together and create more UH bonds.
Now looking at the rosters it looks like we need some bigs and I am not sure Pollard is as good having to log big minutes. So what if J’Wan and Francis may be options after the NBA summer leagues?

Let me know when Caleb signs “The Family Board”

Caleb certainly had offensive talent. He was a finesse player. He mostly came off the bench, which I am sure frustrated him. Keep in mind UH also had Sasser, Q, and Jarreau at the time. Those players had more dog in them than Caleb. Caleb seemed to always be nursing an injury, which hampered his development. The breaking point as I remember was when Coach read him the riot act after a mistake, and poked him in the chest as Caleb was coming off the court. I imagine that scene did not play well with Caleb’s family. Even after Caleb’s departure, I read that he still kept in touch with several UH players. He did quit on his UH team, but if the team is okay with him being on TBT, its not worth making a big deal about.

I always thought Caleb should have stayed for our superior defensive training. He doesn’t have the physicality to be a great defender, but I thought he had the knack for knowing how to get in the way of his man. LJ has this also
