True, and we lost in the 1st round by 12 points to Maryland, who lost in the 2nd round. In 2010, it represented a dim light during a dark era of UH basketball.
By today’s standards, not an achievement to be fondly celebrated.
Y’all are missing the point…
The context is not is it more important for HOUSTON this season… but, in general, winning the bid is INHERENTLY more valuable than winning the regular season title…
Of course, this is absolutely true for most non P5 conferences excluding WCC & MWC…
And likewise the B12 regular season results will either put you in the tourney or exclude you… UNLESS you win the conference tourney (Baylor, Cincy, etc.)
