How much value do you put on the Big12 Tournament

Not sure why you would say Flemmings is the one who really cares to be a champion. You saying Emanuel, JoJo and Milos don’t care when they tasted the Championship game last year? Mercy and McCarty don’t care in your opinion, WRONG! The whole team cares.

Tell me I am misunderstanding your post, please.

He didn’t write “he is the only one”, He’s not saying the others don’t, just that Flemings has that drive and this year will be his only chance

That is why I closed my reply requesting NeilC to “Tell me I am misunderstanding your post, please.”

Conference championships of any kind in the B12 are huge achievements. You let the balls swing and go for the trophy like there’s no tomorrow.

Besides, what happens if you try to get clever, half ass it, and get two freshmen hurt? What have you accomplished?

I’m always in favor of getting more hardware for UH’s Trophy Room.

Let the B12 Tournament start

I just mean it’s more important because you get a spot in the tourney guaranteed…

Of course, I prefee regilar season championships…

Unfortunately it doesnt mean much. The selection committiee gives little credence outside of automatic bids, and teams/seeds on the edge (a great vs bad tourney performance can be the difference if the committee is splitting hairs).

With the 1 seeds all but locked, there is little to play for. Really, I think every teams objective is to play well enough NOT to give the committe reason to slight them on a tight decision.

Iowa State had these facts cemented 25 years ago and refinforced repeatedly since. More than winning, coaches/players should utilize thek and the competition to work out kinks before the tourney.

And we have a pretty good history in the Dance after winning the conference tourney. That matters.

I prefer all of 'em.

There is no value in terms NCAA seeding that’s done. The value for Houston is two things winning it because it means we are playing well, which also means we’ve put on our new lineup philosophy into the teeth of some good teams on a short turnaround and have worked out of the kinks.

This being more ready for the biggest gauntlet.

Biggest problem I have with it is if you go all the way, you have to play 3 games in 3 days…… increasing the chance of injury.

Baylor & Cincy disagree…

I understand the conference tourney won’t improve teams’ seedings…

But it’s INHERENTLY more valuable than the regular season title because it comes with a berth in the tourney…

Anyway… IT’S MARCH… GO COOGS!!!

Would be true if there were only 12 or 16 teams in the NCAA tourney

It’s still true…

A. Do you win a bid for winning the regular season… No, you don’t.

B. Do you won a bid for winning the tourney… Yes, you do.

Pretty plain & simple…

Y’all seem to forget about Tom Penders & Aubrey Coleman winning a bid that we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise…

this team needs the conference tourney more than our teams from the past few years but its not because we’re at risk of being left out if we don’t win it lol

After the Sasser injury in 2023, i will say staying healthy is the most important. No need to risk by winning it all

No sh!t… still doesn’t mean the winner doesn’t get an auto bid…

That INHERENTLY makes it more important…

Like I said Cincy & Baylor disagree that it’s not more important…

Well, let’s see, they are projecting that 12 teams will be in the tourney from the SEC.
