How would you rate our offseason?

Naw…i dont need to go back and see it. Wasnt my opinion. Just what the announcers were saying and what the analysts were saying.

There are so many unknowns going into this year. 1 player coming back that averaged more than 15 minutes for UH last year. I loved how Mercy and Chase played down the stretch and they are prime candidates to take a big leap forward, but his is uncharted territory for us under Sampson.

Im looking forward to seeing how this coaching staff can mold this team and what sort of improvements they can get out of the current guys, who haven’t got a ton of minutes. Chase, Mercy, KJ, & Byrce.

There is definitely talent on the roster, I do worry about 3pt shooting, aside from Chase.

This is going to be interesting, I’d imagine there are gonna be some serious growing pains. Those who cry about losses could very well find themselves miserable the first few months. But coach always finds a way to get the team coached up and ready to go once conference rolls around

Hopefully, we aren’t ranked too high going into the year. I think somewhere around 20 sounds right, I do want to be ranked though, so we can keep the consecutive weeks streak alive. But not going in with enormous expectations, getting to play the underdog to an extent, is probably where we should be.

Harwell will not be a lottery pick

He better get it together or he’ll be bouncing around like Terrance arceneaux

So true! Hopefully he thrives at Gonzaga

He dropped 28 on us that night  Sampson even mentioned in an interview that Cenac had never had to guard outside the perimeter in High School.

But it’s not serious enough to argue so I’ll guess we’ll just have to disagree… using ai to prove a point is kinda lazy though lol

I see a top 15 team here. Going back to defense, rebounding, toughness…A Samson team.
This is going to be a very fun year as their will be lots of growth to enjoy. The fun is getting there not the end.

how is this moving the goalpast ,when the goalpost was in the original post

I said, he is a+ defender “as is” who could develop into a dpoy level… that by common sense insinuates that a+ isnt the highest

he made a response that a+ must mean he is the best of the best… i responded that i was noting that a+ wasnt my highest

please explain the moved goal post

film to aawards… i judge film to film… and delrecco film isnt that of a great defender

he was by far the best freshmen defender weve had here… players that were worse freshmen defenders than him ended up dpoy… including shead and galen …you can add Dejon even though it was his sophomore year as 1st year defender

incase youve forget here is is harwell defending various college stars or projected NBA players

(note its not letting me do clips, i can only edit the start point of links, just watch 1st 13 secs of links)

it is niot a hot take to say he has DPOY potential… it is not a hot take to sday his aal big 12 potential
he was a special defender as a freshmen… * had he stayed (the asterik) , everyone who stays gets better… and on defense his starting line is better than any freshmen before…

yes his offense needed major retooling… but he probably only needed to improve his offense to like 11pts to get to all big 12 considerations

Ok. I wasnt considering Harwell staying long. If he stays a few years, then i could see it. As far as the defense…

If his defense was as good as Pesik is making it out to be he would have never gotten benched…

We all know CKS won’t bench you if you’re playing lockdown D.

What???

Kellen said kord is a monster on D… we don’t play him…

Terrance was statistically the best perimeter defender on team by every metric and he came of the bench …

Robbie ambrester was a low 4star exclusively on defense

Kelvin noted mylik was a monster on defense day 1 and we still redshirted him

Cedrick alley was benched despite Sampson praising his defense and rebounding

You made up a completely fake anecdotal not even remotely based on reality … there a ridiculous amount of examples to counter your point

The reality is Sampson plays Naturally great offensive players that he can develop their defense
That’s who gets minutes …

I’ll say this, if Harwell offense doesn’t develop at Gonzaga and he gives up on the NBA lottery dream. And just wants to ride out his college years, I’d welcome him back as a Junior

If you can’t score I don’t care how good your D is your not playing very much!

Harwell’s D wasn’t even as good as J Walk’s… there’s NEVER been a frosh as good as Harwell at defense… :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is your quote saying Harwell is the best frosh defender we’ve had at UH…

What??? JWalk defense wasn’t great…

That was our worst post defense in the last 9 years

JWalk had a dominant body but wasn’t physical …he was finesse player in a shaq body

He had some nice blocks …
being completely honest … I’d trust Harwell in ISO vs a top perimeter guard, before id trust freshmen JWalk with top scoring PF in iso

JWalk had better offense … no one is debating that

I remember the exact opposite… that he was drafted high because of his capability on defense and rebounding coupled with his POTENTIAL to have a 3 level offensive game in the NBA.

Mr @Kyle_Be_Coogin, you lost credibility with me on this statement. I thought Walker played too passive on defense. Harwell was much better than Walker on defense, and in my mind, it isn’t even particularly close.

lets not be revisionist history

jarace walker was a good defender, he was not close to a shutdown defender or close

"he was drafted high because of his capability on defense and rebounding POTENTIAL coupled with his POTENTIAL to have a 3 level offensive game in the NBA.

You missed a key word… jarace had scary defensive potential… he had a dominant body, but wasnt a physical defender… developing that could have made him special… but he wasnt that as a freshmen

not joking id trust harwell in iso defense against elite guards, before id put freshman walker in iso vs a top pf …
i couldnt find videos on youtube but n’faly dante ate him up, deandere williams at him up…

being 100% id put freshmen mccarty (at the 3) over jwalk for freshmen defenders too

harwell offense was really bad… he was exclusively a 3&d and shooting the 3 at 27%, a couple air balls in there… his pretty bad offense doesnt negate the great defense he played
