I believe in Coach Fritz

Bryce Beall said on the Lets Rage Coogs podcast last night that you just can’t pull the QB1 after 1 game or you lose the room. Don’t know if its true but he knows more than me.

There is a thin line between losing the morale of the team and just chewing everyone up. CWF has a tough job. Let’s be very supportive. Success will come.

Ya know…I was opposed to this idea at first, but the more I think about it now, the more I envision what coulda been :face_holding_back_tears:

But boy…would it be good for BUSINESS!

Packed TDECU…NIL infusion…UH talked about everywhere…OUR coach and UH players in commercials…Academic Windfall (both money and application quality)

I wonder if they even kicked the tires.

Fritz is the guy I wanted and the guy I still want. I was disappointed in our dismal performance like most people on this board, but this guy has a hell of a lot of pride and can flat out coach. His record speaks for itself. Fritz’s tenure at UH has lasted exactly 60 minutes!! We gave CDH and Sampson more time than that. I think folks have a CDH hangover and the feeling of panic is obvious. I look forward to the OU game. We will see who wants to play.

He forgot how to coach on Saturday

Fritz will adapt. It is what he is best at.
We will win more games than people think.
I still think we beat Vegas.

I see nothing wrong with rotating QBs in game to see who does the best. Smith will have to EARN the locker room or someone else will.

Players like winning. Get them the winner and the will get behind him.

That was ten years ago? Sheesh.

When was the last time we benched a starting senior QB and put in someone else?

1969

Don’t know what game you saw, we gave up 27 points and they missed an easy FG and went for it on fourth down in the red zone, would have been an easy 3 points. Could have easily been 33 points. We did not come close to scoring until last minute of the game against their 3rd string.

There are always ifs and buts, and I said we weren’t great defensively. But bottom line is a really good offense barely had over 300 yards and only scored 20 points. For the first game, that’s significant improvement over finishing #108 in scoring defense at 32 ppg.

I do believe Coach Fritz will get things turned around. My main concern is the OL and putting a QB in that can mask some the OL’s deficiencies. I get that Smith will start again, but if Smith struggles, Fritz can’t be stubborn and has to replace him with either Chriss or Ale. In fact, I would not start Smith again until the OL shows that it can pass and run block.

I think UNLV dialed it down on offense because they saw we couldn’t move the ball so they didn’t have to take any chances and as long as they didn’t start turning the ball over we had no chance to come back and win.

Definitely. They realized that the only way to lose was if our defense outscored them.

I keep replaying too. What were they doing? I could see one guy messing up but all of them? That’s a joke. Terrible

There’s just something wrong. None of us know what it is or we’d be getting paid Millions to show the world. Is it coaches, fan base, stadium (too much, not enough) location, players, administrative, and on and on. Guess my point here is that we’re just not fielding a competitive team that seems to want to show Coog pride no matter the opponent. Maybe I’m out of date with that type thinking–its a holdover from some of the teams that truly showed it no matter the record. If we’d lost to Vegas by 2 or 3 and were at their door when the game ended, I might not be writing this.

I’m not confident. UH is a newcomer to a major conference. Having a coach who has some experience at this level seems like it should be a minimum qualification on the job description.

Yeah and look where Tom Herman is at, who is struggling to compete in the AAC.
