It was on ESPN+.
So, just keep accepting it then?
Nahhhhhh….
Memorial Day is in May…
Brainfart! Labor Day weekend, I meant lol.
It’s all good.
Did you see the crowd at the Iron Bowl?
Auburn went into the game 5-6 (now 5-7), and the atmosphere was Electric…
Im just saying based on past performance of past admins, i just do not see them making any meaningful changes, but hey i would gladly love to eat crow on this!!
For once, yesterday, I was glad we had an 11 AM kickoff. Jumped in our car by Baylor’s golden nipple, and were back home in the Bear Creek area at 5:30 PM.
I did. Hopefully one day we can replicate that at TDECU.
so, let me get this straight…he thinks our Opening Day is such a non event + a city that seems to have so much to do HERE to cut into our attendance that he attempted to hide our OPENING DAY on a Thursday Nigth instead of Confidently stating…
THIS IS OUR OPENING WEEKEND…we are going to give it a proper celebration on Saturday for those that WANT TO ATTEND.
I swear we are the only fan base that doesn’t know our own schedule’s importance.
That was a D- Move by the AD and signaled…UH Football isn’t a big deal to us…why should you think it is a big deal???
Not every one empties out of the City of Houston on Labor Day weekend…he catered to the smallest denominator.
I felt it set the tone for the season then…and I still think it did now.
In this case, yes. It seems that he did not have much confidence in the alumni and fanbase to show up.
Yep.
Let’s not repeat that mistake…
That Thursday night made it very hard for most to attend…
We DESERVED a proper day of tailgating + a Saturday night kick-off as this was a non-Televised game
The head scratcher is that we HID our Own Season Opener on purpose…WTF!!!
like…this stuff is not hard.
It’s as if , sometimes, they want us to be a non-event.
I don’t get it.
Labor Day
A Pop artist has a concert with 24 hours.
No hoiliday during the WV or TCU games…what was that excuse, Mr. AD?
We truly are The University of Excuses…we should formally change our name to U of E!
We have to get the campus out of Houston, Texas. It would be a major undertaking like creating an atmosphere on Mars. But if you believe it you can achieve it. That’s the immediate remedy for attendance. Maybe Rice would help underwrite 40% of the cost and we could move them out too.
To where? The Woodlands? Conroe?
That’s not the problem…UT is smack in the middle of Austin (with horrendous traffic)…and they don’t have half the issues we have
No. I was thinking Iowa or maybe central Mississippi. Maybe Corinth.
That’s because everything revolves around ut.
They have no NFL, NBA, or MLB team. Just an MLS team, and soccer is nowhere near as popular as Football.
What’s your point? That is one of the greatest rivalries in all of football being played on an SEC stage.
In absolutely no way can we be compared
If you’re looking to the crowd to be the difference-maker against a conference bottom-feeder, you’re in a bad place. Our team overachieved against some teams, and underachieved against others. That’s because we aren’t good enough to win ‘em all yet.
