During what years did you go to Tech?

I don’t think we’ll be able to judge after just one season. For this to work it’s a long game

What is the best way to answer that one?
I will try with the following.
U of H has connections in all industries.
UH is in the fourth and soon to be third biggest city.
U of H has hundreds of thousands of alumni in the greater Houston area.
…and the only prime benefactor that we know of is Tilman Fertitta. Yes others have donated. Without them we would not have the amenities we have today.
I have asked the same question for years. Who/which group is in charge of “selling” UH regionally and Nationwide?
I have no clues how much is done/has been done to get more donors. What I am seeing are the results. Our administration has done an amazing job with very little. Our sports department has operated on a shoe string for decades. Some complain about the lack of sunshade or bathrooms. We are extremely lucky to only have paid what we did for our stadium.
What is not visible, measurable is our lack of financial supports/lack of mega donors. I am sure we have a “task force” in charge of recruiting donors/expand our donor pool. I refuse to accept that we can’t do better. In sales you have to continuously be looking, searching, closing and search more.
The same can be said to our lack of attendance. Yes there are sports franchises in the city but that should never stop us for trying to get fans in the stadium.

Seems to be working well at SMU.

Our best donors would be the thousands of alumni . UH and alumni associations need to energize this untapped resource.

That’s what CWF is here to do…

You are both true but we have seen this before. Are we taking the same approach for getting new fans or donors? I have no clues but from afar we gotta find new ways. We gotta find out what is working for some and what is not working for us. I sure hope our leaders are already taking this approach. R.I.P. Larry Lucchino, he used to be the San Diego Padres C.E.O. He completely changed the franchise fan’s approach. We have needed a Larry Lucchino for decades.

To build up a consistent t-shirt fan base you have to have a sustained period of success… look at the Stros over the last 10 years…

And the Coogs in FC…

Why wouldn’t any Houston fan not want this to be true for football under CWF? Or do you want past performance to be predictive of future results?

Lucchino brought such a positive attitude. He made it fun to go to the Padres game. Then got management to spend money, then the wins came.
Our new A.D. and leaders should make it a fan even to go to the football games. I have no idea why but the stadium in person vs tv gives you two opposite feelings. The stadium in person is great, really love the inside “belly” From tv it almost the opposite. Should camera angle be changed to give you the same feeling? Maybe our A.D. should look at it.

I’m front row in sec 117… every game looks great to me in person…

There’s only one fix for on TV… Win.

Also, the tailgate needs to return to Keenum era Robertson vibes…

Who hired Larry Luchino for the San Diego Padres? None other than UH alumni John Moores. Smart man with a lot of money.

…and maybe Mrs. Khator, Fertitta and Moores should get together (if they have not already done so) and do some brain storming. The amount of UH alums not to attend football games makes no sense what so ever.
This has to be addressed in a different way since what they have done has not worked.

There is nothing wrong with our past performance when we have a good coach…

Huh? So, why has Houston fired so many coaches since 2014?

So many? PLEASE. Try 2. Applewhite and Holgersen, who both deserved to be fired.

Would it have anything to do with their results?

Left off Levine

Our UH Ad has said that his department is knocking on doors that we have never knocked on before. This is a moment in time when new investment in the area could benefit UH as well .
Go Coogs !
