I agree Shead is a better overall player than Galen. But, the one thing Galen did better than any PG I’ve witnessed at UH (disclaimer: I didn’t really start paying attention until the late 90s) is he was a 1-man press break. Galen could dribble faster than most people could run and he would get the inbounds and beat every press by himself. None of this sitting back, waiting for the trap and trying to lob it across the court.

Idk if Shead would want to stay a fifth year if he ends up being an All-American this year but jext years team might be better than the 2022 team of all 3 of them decide to run it back lmao

I know recency bias plays a huge role in this, but where will Shead rank in the all time Cougar greats? With all he does for this team (scoring, assists, defense, leadership intangibles) he may be the best PG ever. I’m “only” 54, so I barely remember 1982 Rob Williams. Have we had a better all around player at PG than Shead?
