Is Jerome correct, in that UH would get full shares beginning in 2026?
I thought they got partial share the first two years and then full in 2025, so that is news to me.
We get a full share when the new contract kicks in which is July 2025. The first distribution from the new contract will be in 2026.
So, he is incorrect? I thought so. I like the important bit of information in the article that “UH does not deliver the Houston market”. So important to note.
Jerome is the laziest columnist in America. He doesn’t go to games. He doesn’t cultivate sources. He doesn’t work hard. He writes from his couch and adds no insight or knowledge. Why does anyone care what he writes?
I read articles from the Chronicle, particularly, ones that have to do with my school.
One or two years ago js threw someone I know under the bus with a grossly inaccurate, lazy, and self serving column in the Chron. Never once called, attempted to verify, or get a second side of the the story. He is a columnist of opportunity.
Right, he doesn’t so any reporting. No one knows who he is. If he walks in the Rockets locker room, no on knows him. Same with Astros. A competent columnist should walk in the locker room and the star players should know who he is because. there’s there all the time and asking questions. There’s a reason Chron subscriptions have absolutely plummeted.
Ok.
The moronicale strikes again
Not surprised by that statement since nearly all of the Chron’s writers are extremely anti-UH! They spend all of their time looking for angles to attack UH and belittle UH. Whenever UH is doing good they’re angry and look for ways to downplay UH’s success and try to convince people to go against UH or look down on UH. What bothers me is the fact that these villains live in Houston to take advantage of Houston’s resources and job opportunities all the while they try their best to bring Houston’s image and institutions down! These are villains the city of Houston needs to get rid of! Why should we allow our enemies to live among us and work in an important position to disseminate bad news and lies about us? And the Chron head honchos wonder why Houstonians refuse to spend money on their newspaper! Please!
They are the Houston Chronicle not University of Houston Chronicle and not UT Chronicle or A&M Chronicle. Oh, wait!
No if the distribution is not until 2026, then he is correct in that we don’t receive a full share until 2026. We may have earned part of it in 2025, but not received.
A tree fell in the woods. Nobody was there so it made no noise.
The chronicle was made from that tree. It also made no noise…
Take a look at their editors and sportswriters…Dominated by UT grads…you are surprised they are anti UH? I’m not…But winning forces them to acknowledge us…
We get 25k to a game last year. Haven’t sold out consistently since when? 2016? It is our own fault. If 25k at a football game delivers houston than we are good to go.
“UT Dominates OU 14-10” is one headline while “UH Squeaks Out a Win Against Navy 49-3” is how they acknowledge us. I noticed that some time ago and quit reading their biased reporting.
When I saw a thread titled “Jerome Soloman Article”, I knew it would be bad.
It’s all about 1st impressions. The guy i work with everyday is a longhorn fan because thats all he was exposed to as a youngster. He always says he likes the coogs though but he makes fun because of our sorry predicament the last 25 years. This should change slowly though.
The point wasn’t whether we actually deliver the Houston market, it was just unnecessary to even mention. It just felt like an added jab for the non UH fans in town, reading the article.
