I have an autographed copy that Jerry gave me. There were days during Dimel’s stay where Jerry and I were the only ones at the press conferences. After Dimel’s last win (27-10 over Louisville) he actually picked up Jerry and me both at the same time in the locker room he was so happy. Crazy days.

He has? Seems lazier than ever. He was one of the complainers that always responded to any criticism of the Chronicle’s poor coverage with, “win and we’ll cover UH more”. UH basketball won more than 99% of the rest of the teams in the country, let alone Texas and the coverage was about the same. While not as lazy as Solomon, the guy and the Chronicle don’t do much.
He always used “don’t shoot the messenger” and I’d say he was the message creator
