Jimbo Fisher

Send A&M Holgersen and Pezman. Double bonus.

Ags will probably go after Dan lanning or lance Leopold imo

problem with the Aggies is their fanbase demands a splash hire, which isnt going to work anymore.

but they’ve got the money and its fun to watch

Ags will prob talk to MAtt Campbell also

maybe since he’s got 75 mil in da bank, he’d go for cheap!!

we don’t need a hit it and quit it guy!!

5 years done right is not hit and quit. Looking for another job during the first year is hit and quit.

The only thing I care about is observing aggy turmoil, followed by their latest delusions of grandeur. Enjoy the show .

They apparently have the money but it’s very wasteful at 75 mil. They could buy half a bb arena for that etc. Goes to show some schools make a lot and waste a lot. This is prob 3 or 4 yrs of surplus ath money or donor money and money isn’t endless.

A post above said if we made a deal with fisher for 2 mil bc he doesn’t need the money with a contract in our favor then let he be a figurehead coach to recruit then I know he can get good coordinators. It’s an interesting idea if fisher wants to stay in Texas and coach , however I feel we don’t want to waste 14 mil right now with the opps building on the way which starts construction after this season.

We prob pay a hungry coach less for 5 yrs and see what he does.

Surely you don’t think the school will pay for the buyout. The BMDs will cover it.

I agree but when does donor fatigue set in wasting this type money. Jumbo was competitive so it’s a waste of donor money which is our prob. We prob don’t want to waste the 14 mil buyout or whatever it is.

Another plan.

Why not ask or force Dana to get 2 good coordinators then Dana as figurehead. Yrs ago maggard forced a coach to do that here if I recall.

Can’t believe people are still suggesting Traylor…

Actually the school is footing the bill on this one.

It’s more of a tax strategy for the Uber wealthy alumn to give to the school in other ways to shield from taxation.

TAMU will receive a major “new” donation from several families on a new project and that’s how the game is played to minimize exposure to the donors!

Just a technicality, the donors are still the source of the money for the buyout.

Yeah it Jimbo is headed straight to ESPN to hangout with Urban Meyer and Chris Peterson, who are also getting paid to do nothing.

I will tell you one name to be on the lookout for to go to TAMU: Lane Kiffin.

Aggies are real fools. “They bought him championship plaque for future NC’s”.

Playing:Impact Of Jimbo Fisher Firing On Texas A…(2:32)

Texas A&M fired coach Jimbo Fisher before the end of his sixth season at the helm, bringing about an abrupt end to a tenure in College Station, Texas, that flashed promise but ultimately failed to live up to national championship expectations. Fisher was 45-25 (.643) with the Aggies, which fell short of the overall record set by his predecessor, Kevin Sumlin, who was 51-26 (.662) in six full seasons.

Fisher’s dismissal is expected to put Texas A&M on the hook for a buyout north of $77 million that will be paid over the course of the next eight years.

Aside from a 9-1 finish during the 2020 season played amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas A&M didn’t come close to sniffing the highs that Fisher enjoyed during his previous stint at Florida State. He was 83-23 in eight seasons with the Seminoles and won a national championship in 2013, so there was plenty of fanfare when he was introduced as Texas A&M’s coach on Dec. 1, 2017. The school even presented Fisher with a now-infamous national championship plaque with the date intentionally left blank in anticipation of a run to glory during the course of Fisher’s original 10-year, $75 million deal.

AD said donors cover the initial payment and media rights and other future income (ie, the university) covers the rest.

Jimbo had multiple five stars at Florida State and Colleyville that would never happen here you guys are clueless if you think it would.
