Jordan Mccloud to UH?

They mean something in the top 300. Outside of that, it’s a total crapshoot. I mean look at this. These two fellas were unranked, don’t even have a profile picture, yet you expect me to believe the recruiting services took time to reevaluate every guy around their rank and accurately position them at 90 and 91? All too convenient.

This is why we have guys like Tank Dell surprise folks. It’s not that he was theoretically underrated, he simply wasn’t rated properly to begin with.

Trust the coaches, they do the evals on their players. Much more reliable.

Tank’s size and level of competition all played a role in his rating. Also who was recruiting him. No one says the rating system is perfect.

I bet you he’d be a top 10 WR out of HS if they rated him properly to begin with. My point was to not take it too serious. It’s fun to pass the time, but not only is it not perfect, it’s far from perfect.

Agree. I am really glad he to see him do well with the Texans. He has the ability to be a game changer.

It’s coaching afterward that makes any player a good to great player. People always say give me a 3 star we can make’em play like a 5 star because he’s mad about being overlooked. I say give me the 4 and 5 star, coach 'em up (just like that 3 star) to play mad and off the chain FB. That’s what I say. Saban does that

I get a 5 star is a 5 star through and through, but what separates a 3 star from a 4? I’ve always been curious how the math is done on some ratings. Like the difference between these:

  • .8999 - 9100
    or
  • .8788 - 8888

That’s why I think coaches should get most of the credit because they have the foresight to see what a player can be. Far more accurate. Can’t wait to beat another blueblood in a NY6 with all of our “3 star” players! :joy:

I think “competition “ and being “promised” 100% depends on who the QB brought in actually is.

Somebody big time ain’t coming in unless guaranteed and they would also be getting a nice NIL package.

Smith waan’t the problem… Dude is a legit QB… What y’all smokin…?

Pass it over here…

I know you recognize the talent @bigmccoog

Talking to these other knuckleheads…

Smith has physical talents but he is slow to read the defense or see the second option and react.

JMU beat Virginia and a bunch of bowl teams. Grape stomped Coastal Carolina.

Thanks. Thought JT planned on reclassifying.

He can’t shake some bad QB habits.
Huge stride as he throws.
Some can do it w no issue but its rare.

Moves OK if no hesitation and straight forward.
Not elusive in any other way.

Fritz/ Staff will get 2 work.

Welcoming the change in narrative from, “we don’t have big 12 players to compete” to “I hope this sunbelt transfer can help us get to the next level.”

I love Donovan Smith and think he can be a great QB. But I also think we need guys who can compete with him and may the best man win. Here’s hoping McCloud comes to UH. We need talent and iron sharpens iron.

Shoulda ask that lazy bozo whose fault is it? When people asked him what other recruits was he going to bring besides the measly 8 recruits, all he did was shrugged his shoulders and muttered, “That ship has sailed!” So, he was too lazy to recruit any good players and when his team got trounced in the most embarrassing way he then cried that he didn’t have the right caliber of players to compete! I’m like: “No duh, moron!”
