While I normally live for UT losses and die for UT wins, the timing of a “Karma is a B” thread while UT players have hearts on their helmets over Houston on the Texas map and UH players are using a UT athletics truck to deliver goods to Houston shelters, just seems really petty.

I recently had a conversation with a longhorn fan and I told him his coach is a sociopathic liar, but a really good football coach. I also told him to be hopeful that they never lose Todd Orlando, because his defense was the strength of team while at UH. He asked me how I could expect to keep a coach like Tom Herman at UH, he went on to compare UH to Texas Tech, when explaining our “place in the CFB world”. I’m really looking forward to the Coogs this season and I only bring this conversation to this board, because I believe this perfectly captures the problems at Texas. It is a culture of entitlement. When you compare this attitude to UH, it easy to understand why CTH message worked here. It was more believable. I’m thankful that the carnival barker headed to Austin and I’m grateful that he led Major Applewhite to Cullen. I’m happy to sit and watch Rome burn…While we continue our upward trajectory in the CFB world.

My coworker who is a UT alumn said we were a mid major so I can empathize with you
On their board, they said Charlie strong came from a tier 2 University, and Herman came from a tier 4, so I do not have sympathy for their fans.

Texas’ recruits are always highly rated. I am suspicious of the accuracy of their ratings. I doubt the recruiting services go everywhere and see all these high school players actually play. So it is easy to rate players by height and weight. Bigger is always better, right? UT has big players that are highly rated. Their linebackers are very big. They are playing Orlando’s defense. These UT linebackers are slow compared to UH’s the past 2 years. We may have 220 lb linebackers but they are quick and they get to the ball. Nowadays many colleges use a 5 defensive back defense as their standard defense because they need speed. Texas is big and slow.

Last season I would say Maryland was slightly better than Texas, this year appears the same. The difference is everyone bought into the tom Herman hype and thought he would elevate the program which he apparently hasn’t.
