Tulane scored 96 points in 40 minutes. I don’t care about 30 points (off 18 FGs and 17 FTs) when neither team is playing any defense.
Davis may have been a decent option if Sasser went pro, but even then I don’t like him in our system. He is one of the highest usage guys in the country and forces a ton of shots. Plus he is an NBA superstar level whiner if he doesn’t get every single call.
Seems legit to discuss the best player in the league when we’re gonna be playing against him twice. But I’m not upset he’s not here. I’m more upset he didn’t transfer outside the AAC, really. We’ll hold him to around twenty but the effort will likely leave big men wandering around alone.
I was reading over the article which was dated back in January 2021 when we played SMU. Good write-up on the Houston Cougar players — Grimes, Jarreau, Gorham, etc.
Kendric Davis scored 32-points and 8-rebounds in that game for SMU.
But the all-important thing was no matter how much Davis scored, the Houston Cougars still won the game.
I thought that only happened in the infantry, not the Navy. Reminds me of the old joke . . . . . Good news and bad news for Army recruits. Good news is today, you get to change underwear. Bad news is you change with the guy on your right . . . . .
