Khator and Tilman

At what point do we hold Dr. Khator and Tilman responsible if CDH is still on payroll for the 2024 season?

If CDH is still here then all of our progress and achievements of Tier One, joining the Big 12, $1 billion dollar endowment etc is all for nothing.

Plus keeping CDH would be strike 3 after the Levine and Applewhite hires because they seem to not learn that those 2 also caused low attendance and the football program losing season tickets.

Dumb take.

We will not “go after” two of UH’s biggest pillars, pillars that have strengthened our university beyond anything we could have ever imagined because of poor football play.

You might be going a bit too far there.

A football coach ain’t as important as any of those other things you mentioned.

:man_facepalming: Off your meds? The other items you mention are game changing, long term achievements. A football coach having a bad year, or few, will not change that fact.

I can understand the frustration, particularly on this board as it houses the fanatics amongst us. Believe me, I want DH outta here yesterday as much as anyone. But “going after” Renu and TF for any reason (beyond there being some crazy scandal out of left field) would just be wrong. It’s hard to quantify just how much further ahead UH is because of their leadership, philanthropy, and vision. They’ve done enough and acted deliberately enough for me to trust that if DH is still here, there’s a good reason for it - i.e. it’s more advantageous to terminate him after XX date, etc. Having said all that, please fire DH.

This could be pulled out of the rear end but with some stuff that’s happened on Cullen Blvd

The Engineering Dean retired very suddenly two weeks ago. He was supposed to visit one of the labs, then days before it was announced he was stepping down on Halloween to become special assistant to the provost. A few people I know of that are pretty plugged in mentioned that he was pretty sick of Khator’s [doodoo] when it came to a few things regarding the Department of Technology, Engineering, and a super duper focus on a research profile.

Another plugged in friend mentioned that Khator UNDERSTANDS what Athletics IS for a University, but doesn’t care enough to make it an integral PART of the campus life and culture. Furthermore, there is such a demand for campus culture right now. I don’t even think I knew half of what was going on during homecoming last week. Maybe I stopped caring because PhD matters more and I’ve experienced everything, but who knows?

Finally, there’s another educational push to make UH a ‘Harvard of Houston’. That’s Rice’s title. Not UH. Let UH become an elite PUBLIC institution without all that private stuff.

In good news, all TAs are getting $250 extra this year. At least in my college. Less than 1% of a raise LOL.

Going after them for a Football coach is one thing, but I can tell you, there is definitely some dissatisfaction going on with the higher ups, and it’s starting to peel out to the students. Khator has done a lot, but there’s definitely some ‘ouch’ factor that is happening. Student Apathy is becoming a thing, and after hearing about that happening at the U of Arizona, it doesn’t feel good. That school cancelled a few of their homecoming festivities over it.

For example: Khator wanted to start an initiative for faculty to get students spirited. The initiative wants to replicate what Dr. Simon Bott (for those that knew him, you know this expectation) did for UH.

The solution? “Hey faculty, here’s a slide deck. If you want, play it before or after class, up to you”. Yeah that is nowhere close to Bott.

I wouldn’t go after Khator or Tilman for a football coach, but I sure as hell would for being a B12 campus and not acting like it, like at all.

Funnily enough, it’s getting to a point where I think the band is playing Womp Womp/Neck out of spite. They started playing Neck at a pretty packed Football game, and Khator went up and stopped it/chewed them out (since she hears how CV3 sings it). You can guess what songs were played when she went back up to her booth

I keep opening threads expecting to see new information, only to find a thread whose subject is a question that has been asked already. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Now i won’t open any new threads unless the subject reads “Dana has been fired”.

Jesus christ was a terrible take

Renu has more important responsibilities than looking out for the football program

There are thousands of other issues I’d go after Khator for. Coach Holgo ain’t one of them. That’s a Pez and Tilman thing

To be honest, no president or chancellor can change the non-existent school spirit at UH.

It’s been that way for football since Herman left and we won’t see it until March when it is tournament time.

:unamused::cry:

I heard a rumor that she was fixing to retire?

Yeah, let’s go after the two biggest contributors to this college since ever. The one who is responsible for multiple new bldgs. and programs, leads us to a Tier 1 standing, moving us ahead for the future academic greatness we all admire and on and on. The other just does simple stuff-like fund a school of medicine with the bldg. to match, head up and steer a board of regents that absolutely listens to him, rework old Hofheinz to its present state as Fertitta center, plus donations that other colleges drool over. Sh#@can these for a great football coach. Yeah!

Technically, it’s none of your business.

Responsible parties will take care of this matter.

Oh trust me, they can

How long will that take lol?

It took 3 years too late for Tilman to realize that Silas was not the right guy to be the Rockets head coach.

This could be within a few years as she was recently appointed to the board of PNC bank.

Her contact as of right now is “lifetime”

I don’t know what “ go after them means” but I know several on this board have emailed her voicing their frustrations and to let her know their season tickets will not be renewed.

Of course she has important things she is responsible for getting done.
If the AD is not doing his job she needs to make the decision to get rid of him and bring in someone that can do more than one thing at a time.

This was a huge deal getting into the Big 12
.she knows we can’t stay status quo
.the right thing will get done.

We don’t. Why would we “go after” a transformative leader (and rock star) and our biggest benefactor? Stupid.

I meant hold both of them responsible.
CDH isn’t the first bad hire under both of their time here.

Did yall forget the Levine and Applewhite years?
