Pollard, I love you man, but this is petty.
-Scouts across the board have said he needed the most improvement in long range shooting. It’s not like that is pesik out on a limb by himself.
-one game (against Rider) is a good thing but not an indication of a player’s overall status
-pesik wants King to shoot 50% from 3 on the year as much as we all do and will celebrate it as much as anyone else (besides those on this board that think it somehow makes pesik wrong and that pesik being wrong is somehow a good thing)

pesik says he’s great at everything but 3pt shooting in high school and needs to improve that. Kingston improves at 3 pt shooting. Haha pesik you are wrong.

They’ve already moved Flemings into the lottery in projections… some saying he’ll be the 3rd guard taken…

I sure hope they are right because if he ends up that high in the draft that will probably mean we had a really good season!

I hear you.

But when someone’s entire take is from reading articles while 100% dismissing someone else ( that has experience with the game) and had seen the kid play many times live….and spoke with coaches that played against Brennan.

Most of what you read on the internet is complete hearsay……

So people regurgitating things and ignoring first hand accounts?

Yeah, I’ll be a bit petty.

Legitimately wondering if all of they “HS scouts” that said he was a 2 year player minimum because of this or that have come back and said the whiffed on his profile and potential.

I saw maybe one or two mocks last year that had him as a second rounder……now NBA scouts are say lottery and as you said , possibly 3rd guard taken.

People miss on stuff like this all of the time no matter what the sport……every major sport has TONS of flops every year.

I think one of the biggest flaws HS scouts is a kids work ethic and desire….obviously, the skill set has to be there….but these guys don’t even see most of these HS players other than in tournaments where defense is an afterthought.

I’ve only seen bleacher report do so far… espn, athletic have him mid to last 1st

All the articles I’ve seen sorta preach the same tone, bleacher report’s wiseserman said he believes the 3pt shooting will show more/improve as the season goes on… ESPN/athletic articles say they want to see the shooting throughout the season before moving him up (can’t buy stock there yet)… one of the articles calling him a 2pt specialist

Also, kids in high school are still growing. I watched Flemings in high school too, and was super excited to be getting a 6’1" 165 pound point guard. I knew he was quick, skilled, and a leader. Seeing how much he has grown physically in just a few months is not something I was expecting. He already looks a bit taller than than 6’4", like he might be closing in on 6’5". He has put on muscle but without sacrificing any speed or quickness, and he is still lean and wiry like true slasher. Also almost as important, he has a great attitude and understands he is just one part of a very talented unit.

I think he’s 50% from 3… hard to improve on that…

And if everyone could blow by defenders, and get wide open jumpshots whenever they want them, they’d also be 2 pt specialists…

depending on the volume he’d still be able to maintain is draft stock at 35-40% from deep

Nbadraft.net has Flemings going 8th and Cenac 7th.

Obviously meant volume

2 3s a game on 30 mins a game as a pg is low, really low

His percentages on a bigger volume is scary thought

Not to me… shot looks good and confident…

He just doesn’t have to rely on that shot…

I think everyone here recognizes that you were ahead of the curve on Flemings. If anyone disagrees with that, you have plenty of receipts.

A true “1” does not need to shoot “volume” 3’s….as long as your shot is good enough that your opponent has to respect/guard you then it’s plenty good.

His job is to take what the defense gives him and get his teammates easy looks.

Guaranteed CKS is not worried about the volume of threes King takes.

I think you’re talking about something else here though. Pesik is talking about the effect that Flemings increasing his 3pt percentage would have on his draft position. I don’t think he’s suggesting that Sampson wants him to increase his 3pt percentage or that we need that to happen in order to win.

Milos is the first 3-point shooting PG we’ve had under Sampson. Obviously, Samson doesn’t care, doesn’t define his PGs. This covversation was more in the context of solidifying a spot as a lottery pick.

Cool, and you don’t have to be a “volume” 3point shooter as a “1” to get drafted in the top half of the first round.
