And that is guaranteed money. Faster he gets off his rookie contract the faster he can start making the big bucks. He could be making $10+ million in 5 years.
Stop it, Mike.

I guess just enjoy him while he is here.

Finkelstein initially assessed the guard as a Top 20 prospect in next yearās NBA Draft, but with the way things are shaping up for him, Flemings has climbed to the Top 10. "
Already moved him up to a Lottery pick
Did I say something wrong or are you saying he wonāt stay or he will say? We know he is getting NIL bucks, so that would help him stay. But if he gets a first round draft grade, I doubt he will.
He is saying that āNILā bucks are no comparison to NBA first round money.
No, but it could possibly be enough to hold him for another season while he perfects his game. Each year the draft bucks go up a lot, so if he improves his draft spot, it could be worth it. Lottery picks make more than those toward the bottom of the first round.
Heās projected to go top 10 right nowā¦
Couple things
First and foremost, they go into the league early to maximize their earning potential, not for one year, but their lifetime. The second contract for a player, after your rookie contract, is when you really cash in. This is what you need to get to ASAP if you want to maximize your earning potential as an NBA athlete with a short earning window. Delaying that for a NIL deal could cost you 15-30 million over your career.
2nd, the rookie salaries really only ramp up steep above pick 9. That would need to be your goal. And itās a great cliff to climb with decent gains for each lower pick. But the deck is stacked against you if you stay in school. 3 Sophomores in the lottery the past 3 drafts, drafted at numbers 14, 7, and 9. The lottery is almost always going to be freshman based. There isnāt a lot of climbing you can do between years 1 and 2. You are much moore likely to drop than get up into the top 8 picks.
Remember, NBA draft is not about how well you played in college, itās about the potential you showed. I feel like people have to explain this 1000 times and, despite the evidence, people still donāt understand it. Staying in college harms your chances to get into the top 8 picks instead of enhancing it
Not gonna happen Mike.
As a player you have to take the NBA millions even if itās in the back end of the first.
Blowing out a knee is always a play away.
NIL is not going to get it done even if itās not in the lottery.
(sighs inwardly first) Just stop, Mike. Lol
Nate
Nate, I was counting on you getting him enough NIL money for him to turn down the NBA and stay his full 4 years. Donāt let me down.
Not happening. Staying one more year just delays him getting to free agency by a year. Where he will really make some money.
