Went to the Final 4 championship game in San Antonio and it was a 65/35 crowd, with UH being the 65%. If that were A&M or Texas, they would have been 90%+
Last week, not that many UH people at the game in Waco. And over the course of the season, we haven’t packed it in, so the perception isn’t off the mark.
Too bad, I wanted San Antonio. Maybe we can show the world we’ll show up for the Texas Bowl
I WOULD agree. But there’s a lot of legit stuff swirling around that the players are 100% aware of that you guys probably don’t know.
And i hesitate to put it on blast here. Why? Because I’m afraid it’ll get back to people who won’t like it.
I am a Cyclone after all. I’m merely an honorary CoogFan. I still have to live here lol. Certain ppl have A LOT of power. This isn’t a democracy. Nor should it be. Just saying tho.
And that’s not to say I don’t support our current plan for the future. I admire JP, and I like Jimmy so far. But there’s a fear component for all of us more serious fans.
Maybe asking me for a PM would be a more appropriate format should anyone want to know more. Beyond that I’ll let sleeping dogs lie, other than to say I don’t blame the players here, it’s NOT a KState situation at all.
I hope the Alamo Bowl statement about attendance will get the schools attention and help them do whatever they possibly can to make the gameday experience more desired.
I was really speaking in more general terms, because I obviously don’t know the specifics of any team voting down a bowl. It just really grinds my gears, regardless of the circumstances (other than a “death in the family” kind of thing).
It’s no different than a team deciding it doesn’t want to play in a conference championship game, a non-conference game, or any other game that the group just feels like dipping out of. Why are the players even getting to vote on something like this unless they’re willing to forego part of their NIL money?
No doubt. We’re on the same page. Lots about this stinks to high heaven on its face @coogman91
It’s a shame. It really is. Like literally some of that is MY money I entrusted to them. Not much, I’ll admit. Not much at all. But it’s wrong just in that regard alone.
The Red Rifle, Dalton was TCU quarterback, he out dueled us and won game MVP. It was more a defensive struggle. I was their with my 17 year old UH softball team committed daughter
So if this was the Pop-Tarts Bowl reps in Orlando saying this then I could see some validity. But the Alamo Bowl reps saying this makes it seem targeted and vindictive by the reps. Were they asleep for the Final Four in April or the Elite Eight in '22? Or any time we’ve played UTSA in the Alamodome? We might have problems getting to far flung places sure but getting to San Antonio has never been an issue for us.
