True, but at least the game will be mentioned prior to it being played to help market it. They may not know UH will be in it (LSU SEC LSU SEC LSU SEC). but it will be mentioned.

The fact that Lane Kiffin is a storyline for LSU benefits UH in terms of media coverage for the game. My hope is UH proves that LSU needs a new head coach.

Never seen seats tarped off at NRG for games. Are you using the word loosely?

Toyota definitely tarped off the upper level Saturday night. Maybe he thinks/thought NRG does the same. I’ve been to the Battle of the Piney Woods there and seen UTSA vs. Sam Houston, don’t remember tarps up high, but also don’t remember looking that hard.

Like, they actually added tarps? That seems like quite a lot of effort vs just closing it

They had something over it, sure looked like “tarps”, but I didn’t inspect it up close

This is a good point, several tie-ins for B12 bowls are not destination cities.

Here is what I want to see in this Texas Bowl.

  1. Attention to details on every play
  2. Run the ball down lsu’s throat
  3. Control the clock
  4. Create turn overs
  5. Play relentless defense
  6. Go after their QB with packages we have not seen all year
  7. Get our Coaching staff to engage with the crowd
  8. Invite all possible retired and current UH NFL players
  9. Invite as many High Schools students as possible…they are our future fans
This game is a perfect opportunity to showcase UH and to send a mega F.k Off to espn and their scam enterprise.

A couple day after thoughts:

  • Playing LSU in Houston should help re-activate the T-shirt fans we need back, I think we will average higher attendance next year with a worse schedule, I expect 65k people at the game, so no tarps.
  • We were probably 20-30% of the Peach Bowl the allotment was 13,500, and total attendance was 71,007 so we would be between 14,201 and 21,302, not bad for fanbase that is almost 800 miles away vs one that is 250 miles away, if it was in Dallas I would expect the reverse, and no one remembers the Las Vegas Bowl, Hawaii Bowl, Armed Forces Bowl, New Mexico Bowl, Birmingham Bowl, or he Independence Bowl, the crappy normal bowls we played in as a G5 since the Peach Bowl.
  • “Damn it, half of these (Houston) people will come up here and eat at the 7-Eleven store, and the other half will be trying to hold it up,” -Cotton Bowl Executive in 1984, this is still very much alive. The Alamo Bowl did not want us after we played basketball in the same dome in front of 66,602 on a Monday night 8 months earlier because “we don’t travel well”, the Texas Bowl did not want us because we would not sell enough hotel rooms, we are cockroaches…

Texas St vs Rice in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Be still my heart

That’s why I love this forum, learn a lot here. Never knew the 7-11 reference, thx for posting it up

Wait, you don’t seriously think that the only UH fans there were sitting in the “allotment” seats, do you? That’s certainly not the way it went down.

Apparently the Alamo Bowl did not select us because we would not buy enough hotel nights, they are against schools that are within a 4 hour drive, well except UT they have been A LOT… so they are against schools that are more the 2 hours and less then 4 hours away…

Those DFW bowls love Texas State. Last time when they were at SMU’s stadium for a bowl game, they literally drank everything by halftime

Texas Bowl earned a reputation of being the best party for coaches and staff in the bowl universe. Unfortunately, they have changed hotels and we no longer have the freedom to entertain as in the past. It will still be okay.

The playoffs could expand to double its present size and people would still be whining. Personally, it’s hilarious to me for Notre Dame, the most elitist and privileged program in all of college sports, to be pouting.
