I wanted to bring the Alamo Bowl back up, the game is tomorrow at this point they have sold as many tickets as they are going to sell because the resell market has collapsed and tickets are selling for 1/2 of what they cost. I am assuming the bowl sells large blocks to resellers at a discount because there are still thousands.
Going forward, I am not sure the bowl is the best for us because they are living in the past, the cheapest tickets from the box office are $72.85 for upper deck endzone, upper deck sideline are $132.85 the sections we sat in for the national championship are over $250, or roughly the same price as the natty, and the Coogs on facebook were complaining about Texas Bowl prices.
We may or may not be able to out draw TCU, but TCU and USC are not drawing well. They have already sold a ton of tickets and resellers are going to take the hit but the fans will have room to stretch out.
I have honestly never seen so many tickets stuck in the hands of resellers. There are several sections where half the tickets are currently on the resell market.
I’ll be on the riverwalk tomorrow. Wonder if there will be an ESPN pregame broadcast somewhere there. Will pick up a poster board to make a sign “The Alamo Bowl must be in Dallas…no one here! #GoCoogs”
Alamo is way high on ticket prices and they are not dropping. You also left off $100 for parking. UH would have had a lot less fans able to see the Coogs play if it was in SA. Win in Houston. Plus USC does not travel that well to Texas. Same when Stanford played in the Alamo. Oregon did pretty well I believe.
Seems a couple other UH fans are still a little but hurt over it though.
