Local sports talk show(610 AM)

Dan Patrick hardly ever used to talk about the cougars when he was the sportscaster on khou channel11. I remember everyone talking about it all the time in the 70’s.

Dan Patrick when he had his stations in the early 90’s did talk about UH. He was a huge fan of the Run N Shout. He even talked about the bs probations and that all schools were paying their players. This was in the 90’s…

Dump local sports radio. It’s 2025. Get on the podcasts. There are ton of coog podcasts that are 100% dedicated to UH that don’t get the attention they deserve. Just search wherever you can get podcasts on your phone. Also they post some of them on YouTube and you’ll see they have very little views. Support those that cover UH 100% not those that might on occasion.

I do remember he gave PSJ a lot of love during the early 80s though.

Name a good UH podcast. I’ve tried a couple and they were really bad.

I like Parker Ainsworth’s “Locked on Coogs.”

I listen to it on the way to work daily.

I second listening to Locked on Coogs during morning commute. He puts up his videos around 7AM or so. Very informative

Ross Villarreal talks very highly of the Cougars

Scott & Holman are pretty good imo, especially bc they also cover the non-revenue sports (ex. Golf, Soccer, T&F, Villeyball, etc).

Aside from that, maybe Pawd Slamma Jamma (although I personally feel they need to work on their production a bit more).

I’m not a fan of the Locked on Coogs podcast. The host is very annoying in his delivery imo.

Houston born teacher and coach! 365 sports is a pretty good podcast as well.

Who’s he?

If I listen to sports talk radio, which is rarely, I tune in to John and Lance in the morning. I also liked Sean Salibury, but he got dropped.

I enjoy Lance’s bits “Mack Brown on Mobile” and “Phillip Rivers on a Mobile”. Also Tony “Hatchet Man” Valentine.

That is what I’m talking about, not only being knowledegable in sports, but entertaining too.

John and Lance are really the only local guys I listen to as well. Its mainly because they are on during my daily commute so its convient too.

He’s a scrub.

Great recommendation by Ryon and everyone else.

I started listening to Locked On Coogs last week and if you haven’t checked them out, definitely give it a go.

Good topics and content. The guy definitely does his research before each episode.
