I hope it wasn’t his throwing hand. Did the transfer portal do something to upset him? Best of luck Go Coogs!
I wasn’t sure Tune was coming back next season. This confirms he is returning and that’s good news.Wish Maddox the best.
Ps. Glad Jess is posting on this board again.
i think it was clear to him that Massoud was going to be Tune’s successor, and so he is transferring in hopes of starting somewhere else…Nothing wrong with that. Good luck to him.
If I was a highly touted QB I wouldn’t want to sit anywhere for three years. I’d go to a smaller school and try to light it up and break records.
Then, if the big schools wanted me, they could send their bag men.
Appreciate it Tom. Again very gently.
When you peel it back further, his Top Schools other than UH, were Ole Miss, Tulane, Wyoming, so it wasn’t like the Eite or even the Middle level were offering w exception of OleMiss. Sometimes reality hits n my hope is he finds his spot n even better the Coogs are headed in direction where they are consistently recruiting against competition of the likes of Baylor, Tech, OkSt, TCU. And occasionally beating A&M, LSU for a recruit. N yes I left out a certain School intentionally. Time to Step Up! #BIG12
Dang. I’m sure he was a senior in the spring…I guess the COVID year finally go updated. Yeah, that drop was what had/has Dana worried about WR depth. that kid has wheels, I hear, and to drop a perfect pass like that.
Amen CougarM. Texas private schools compete against pygmies and gimps.
In this situation this is a good thing
Maybe it’s Massoud’s to lose and maybe it’s Edwards, the competition is on.
Getting exposure is what any player with aspirations wants. Example: Trey Lance played FCS and was selected 3rd overall in the draft. If you are really good when you’re on the field, you’ll get noticed. I get it that he wants to play. That’s not quitting, but choosing a different path. Every school will see players leave and we will get some who are leaving other schools. Like we already have. With the one free transfer, players can make a move. They risk being stranded or going to an even worse situation, but at least they get to choose. A few years back players were basically hostages having to give up a year of eligibility.
Umm, Strake Jesuit is in UIL.
Strake Jesuit and Dallas Jesuit are UIL 6A, but they are both almost in a class by themselves.
The other privates in the SPC and TAPPS rarely produce “big time” college football players.
I am disappointed that he has decided to leave, but I wish him well. I don’t know his situation or reasons. But he is not leaving us in a lurch, after all he isn’t on the list of guys that would actually play this year.
You have a short window. Go somewhere and play and enjoy yourself.
He obviously wasn’t that good or he would’ve at least been the back-up QB by now. Good luck to him though.
I’m not sure. Being good and being ready are two complimentary ideals. This kid comes from a hyper-competitive family. No competitor wants to sit and watch. There’s only room for one guy at a time. The kid might be very good but needs some development in an area or two.
We’ll be alright.
Sorry to see you go, Mr Kopp. Thank you… Good luck in all you do…
“By now”?? He hasn’t even been here a year . I keep telling people this isn’t basketball, most of these football players take time. Y’all see guys like Gabriel at UCF and Seth at Memphis and think that’s the norm. More times that not mid rated 3 star QBs are not just going to come in and pass up juniors and seniors like that.
