Marcus Sasser and Kenny Lofton Jr. invited to the draft combine

Yup. Would just give execs a reason to not even pay attention to you. He answered how he should have.

He kind of has to say that. It would be a terrible look to talk about going back to college while trying to prove himself at the combine. He has to appear confident. Also, he wouldn’t be talking to anyone if he already has an agreement to come here if he goes back to college. I don’t think I would read too much into this. Just my opinion though.

Kofi should just come to the Coogs honestly. With a proper PG and coach like Shead and CKS he could actually make noise in the dance.

Looks like a rough game for everyone on Team Weaver

All 7 attempts were threes

He gone!!!

Lol.

Loftons 3pt shot is looking better.

But is there any current NBA player that his game is similar to?

If he was drafted, he would probably get a 2-way contract

Which isnt a ton of dough.

Probably can get more in college these days.

Gotta look at the positives lol
Sasser had the most minutes of any starter and 2nd best +/-

No. Closest comparisons are the Corliss Williamson type, under sized PF from the 80s and 90s, but you rarely see those players in the current NBA because of the current style of play. And even the ones that make it (think PJ Tucker) aren’t drafted and need to prove themselves in Gleague/Europe. Maybe I’m wrong but he seems like the classic tweener who can excel in college but just doesn’t fit in the pro game. Ultimately, he’s not tall enough to play center and won’t be able to guard on the perimeter.

Maybe when he loses weight he gets faster laterally

Maybe Georges Niang who played with the Sixers this year.

Drafted 50th in 2016. And had to prove himself in the G League

Maybe. But even Niang was taller and wasnt close to Lofton’s weight. And even in college he had a more perimeter orientated game (shooting 37.5% from 3).

The body type and game aren’t exact matches, but Drew Timme faces some of the same questions as Lofton. 30 years ago when NBA teams played two post players at a time, Timme’s a 1st round pick as a poor man’s Laettner. Now even as a multi time All American he won’t get drafted.

Is this Sassers uncles account? I saw Kellen retweet this

I think he is staying in the draft, why doesn’t he just announce his decision and get it over with one way or the other

He probably doesn’t know yet
 That’s a very difficult decision.

Start playing pro ball of some sort or be the favorite to win a natty
 Tough choice.
