When was last time he even played in a legit competitive game? He was out for long time with injury and didn’t play any HS obviously this fall.
was only out 2 months, he played spring aau (where he was injured)… so about 6/7moths ago… but been back to working and practicing for about 2-3 months

Edit: smart decision by the young man, his family n Team staff. If it breaks fully, then recovering time is much longer, plus it could be severe break where it’s never the same n can reoccur-- see Yao Ming. These young men have a chance to earn $$$ whether for 2, 5, 10 yrs n CKS has to look out for their best interest. Like he always says I have to take care of them like they’re my kids!
Next man up.
A cliche that comes true…
Home games, you can play the freshman more (Walker and Robbie)
But, road games I see Shead, Edwards, Taze playing 30+ minutes a game.
For ball handling, when Shead needs a rest, it will be Edwards at the point.
We gotta lean on our front court.
Is it possible that we could have Fabian at SF, Roberts at PF and Carlton at Center. Idk
Obviously this hurts us Offensively. But defensively, Sasser was a great defender. And other guys like Shead and Edwards will have to be less aggressive on defense to avoid fouls.

i know @Hill and others arent sold on the “activate sharp movement” …alllow me to make a presentation to pitch to you guys… to see the Vision
none of the remaining guards on roster are known for high volume scoring…you could make a case for ramon, but he was only high volume vs weaker high school kids, but wasnt putting up much in aau
sharp is touted soley for electric scoring…
- as a freshmen in HS lead all florida freshmen in scoring at 27pts per in varsity
- then lead all of Fiba U15 in scoring for team Israel
- as a sophomore was top 5 nationally in scoring doing over 32pts a game - florida 5a player of the year
- then was the #2 scorer in the U16 Nike EYBL (Nike is the top aau circuit- picture below) - 30pts a game -lead his team to final 4 at peach jam
- as a junior switched to a new high school - did 25pts a game, lead that school to the state title and best record in program history - 3a player of the year
link is a picture of eybl u16 scoring leaders when he played (note everyone else on this list are top 10 5stars)
to be fair in this assessment: there are going to be doubts about his defense, and his conditioning
counter: sampson said armoni was the worst defensive player he ever recruited, yet played his 13 mins a game as a freshmen, there are way to make it work, and he wont be playing major minutes so his conditioning doesnt need to be amazing
“he should be in High school”: he is the same age as jalen duren (like FPOY) and emoni bates …i can name tons of others who played at high school age and had success like josh primo last year… …samspon said caleb mills was good enough to play his redshirt year and make an impact
clarify: im not saying he should be a core player and get 20+ mins a game, but i think he can make an impact in giving our main guards rest, or not force us to play a guard in foul trouble, and on the rare occasion be an offensive spark… if he is activated i can almost assure in the remaining 24-ish games, he would be the reason we won atleast 1 of them
Where were you presenting pesik?
If had been the 6th he probably could have played through it!!!
He played big in the OSU game in front of a big crowd of family. Glad I got to see that.
@pesik, guaranteed the idea of Sharp playing this season is coming up in Kellen, Quanas, Coach Sampson’s mind.
If we’re being zoned by another team and Ramon Walker isn’t hitting that open shot.
Who we going to on the bench? Armbrester or Sharp, if we need a shooter
It is at the most a three team conference but most probably a 2 team conference. So, a team with 8 loses is not making the tourney for sure. It is a high probability we hit 8 loses. You listed the 4 away games. What about @tulsa they always play tough against us. Are we going to lose a home game against any of the major teams? It is tough. Will Shead even get a break? Sasser was playing the point without Shead…
I think Sharp helping out this year is absolutely in play……
Kinda going along with what pesik was saying…… Sharp is a different cat, not your typical freshman.
I believe he can help.
On Rivals, Sharp is listed as a 4 star.
Those type of players can usually come in year 1 and have an impact.
Nate Hinton, was a 4 star, and he had his moments as a freshman in the 18-19 season
He seems like a mature guy, because his father played professionally overseas. And he grew up there
guard line is thin, Walker will get minutes, 8 man rotation if no foul trouble. 13-5 conference record is doable. 6 seed is till attainable
I will just wait and see what Sampson puts together from the remaining players. We have a lot of talent on this team and our previous problem was more talent than minutes to divide among them. We are very young, but I still think we will go far.
Rob Williams played as a Freshman.
I think that Otis Birdsong did as well.
Sharp becomes a possibility.
But Nate went thru 5 months of conditioning and practices. Caleb Mulls came in December and didn’t even suit up. Kelvin called him the most offensively-skilled player he had recruited.
I agree. And for team chemistry purposes, if a guy just got here, can he pass people on the depth chart that quickly?
I’m sure Armbrester thinks he’s behind Ramon on the depth chart.
Maybe Sharp could come in, put in like a month of solid practice and then get minutes in February.
To immediately get play time, I don’t see it
Maybe try NOT being the worst to pile on when we get bad news, for once. We all know it’s now a harder season. We KNOW that. We don’t need your BS, on Christmas Eve at that.
This has been a great discussion all day.
I feel bad for obviously Marcus and Tramon.
But also Edwards, Carlton, Fabian, Taze…those guys deserved a historic season…especially Fabian, his last ride.
This hurts. But keep fighting. AAC regular season title, AAC tourney champion, still are absolutely achievable
