As /r/oilandgasworkers would joke, though:
“At least I was able to go Raptor shopping.”
True dat. ![]()
That said, given that this is viewed as a (relatively) short term geopolitical issue, the riches will all flow to execs and shareholders. It won’t get below that.
There won’t be some big ramp up in activity based on it.
There would be an uptick from current levels if price forecasts get back to the $80/bbl range a year out. But I don’t think the market has enough information to get there yet. The demand forecast is uncertain, and the actual impact to barrels on the market is unknown - still too many moving pieces.
Which is why you haven’t seen an increase in rig count. Too soon to take the risk.
But those upstream folks in west texas are chomping at the bit to go Raptor shipping.
Note: my sourcing in rig count could be poor.
Agree, so much uncertainty right now. Prices swinging 10-20% based on statements made.
I think there is a decent chance of being $75-80/bbl in a year. I’m seeing WTI at $72/bbl next April which indicates the market is still thinking it’s temporary, yet still not far from $75-80 l which I agree is a very different price than market was expecting until February.
L is for victory ladies and gentlemen!
If this is true, the Strait is about 10% open.
I’ve seen some cargo ships going through, but not really any tanker traffic other than from Iran and their buddies.
Apparently, Israel and Lebanon are gonna go to joint counseling next week. Hopefully, Israel doesn’t launch a bunch of missiles at them in the meantime.
In a post on X addressing prior CBS News reporting on the incident, Assistant Secretary of Defense Sean Parnell said “every possible measure has been taken to safeguard our troops — at every level” and that “[t]he secure facility was fortified with 6-foot walls.”
Unforeseeable. How could the Army have known that drones and missiles could clear a 6-foot wall?!? ![]()
I bet there was wire on top to tangle up those pesky drones, too. The FakeNewsMedia conveniently left that out.
6 foot walls he says? I mean I guess there lucky the Iranians didn’t release a pack of over excited labs or something
Or Assault Camels…
Id bet the issue is mines.
Can’t be, I was rod we took care of everything Iran had. Was I mislead?
If you look at the limited traffic moving through the Strait, all of it is hugging one of the coasts - none is going through the middle. The main part of the Strait is definitely off-limits.
What do we think happened to this bird?
I think we lost one back in late February, as well.
Iran may have figured out how to hack into these.
I understood per the article that the one on Feb 22 wasn’t lost.
Or was that just military coverup ?
Anways these are expensive tools at $238 million each. And the AWACS we lost
on the ground at the airport may cost $750million to 1 billion to replace.
Being it turned towards Iran, I’m suspicious they may have hacked it.
