Meanwhile, Iran war

Here’s the issue @MountainCoug → the midterms

If DT puts troops on the ground, it’s over.

But even with that in mind, what exactly is the objective by putting troops on the ground?

We kill civilization to open the strait? Do you seriously think our military will kill innocent people as the primary objective? It’s not going to happen. DT was never going to do that. He’s just desperate. He accepted to negotiate the Iranian 10 point plan proposal. He (or Kushner) told them they would consider it - really just to buy time to figure out a way out.

We didn’t bring Iran a plan. The brought US a plan.

You heard it from DT - we destroyed Iran’s military. So who exactly are we fighting? Who is the regime?

We are cornered. We lost. We have no leverage. DT keeps throwing threats around. Because he is losing his mind. He’s stressed.

This is arguably the greatest foreign policy failure in American history, if not damn near tied with Iraq.

We will be sanctioned all over the world if we kill innocents. You know who wins? China & Russia.

So what is the answer → we accept the loss, and we must transition away from fossil fuels as quickly as possible because as long as Iran controls the strait, oil prices will never stabilize.

This is a new chapter for America. We are at the tipping point waiting for this to conclude. We are damn near at the edge. Whether it’s the future of American culture, or the future of energy → there’s going to be a seismic shift that many aren’t even aware is coming.

If genocide is the only answer we have - then we are no longer a righteous country.

Good night CoogFans - talk tomorrow!

Here’s the thing they already have the first victory. They made Donald knuckle under, and they continue to hold the cards. It’s obvious to everyone that we can’t force the Strait, and all that bravado is just that bravado. The president was snookered into a situation every other president might have wanted to do but recognized through good advisors that it was an impossible task.

There aren’t any good ways out of this now
We’re going to get a worse deal than the Doha Surrender Protocols he negotiated with the Taliban. And he’s going to claim victory while firing Hegseth.

Or a bloodbath, which is what Bibi really wants.

Pragmatically- we can’t let them have a nuke if we want to live. They will use them soon after getting it like they have every other weapon.

Basically surrender and try to claim victory while knowing 3 years later they will be close to a bomb again… or regime change.

They will be supper emboldened if they survive this. They will be wealthy and have the money for five times the nuclear program. That’s their desire.

Oh yeah and midterms wound be a blood bath. So surrender is very much on the table.

I think that greatly misunderstands Iran’s motivations. They want a nuke for the deterrence and status it would give them as a regional and world power. They understand MAD game theory. We need to stop pretending that they are backwoods suicidal nihilists that are hellbent on burning the world down.

Their actions match more with suicidal nihilists than rational actors.

Appeasement is not successful against insanity.

Which actions suggest this? Let’s be specific.

This is madness !!! How can Vance-e-lot look at the American people and lie to us?

What leverage do we have? The threat of genocide? Are you insane?

If we have that much power over Iran, even just to attack enough infrastructure without targeting innocent lives directly, then why aren’t we already doing this?

We are merely trying to get Iran to return to prewar status quo - which begs the question - what did the 13 fallen servicemen die for!?

Some are going to write that the Iranian dictatorship wants the nuclear bomb for deterrence.
Undeniable facts:
Have lied for decades to the International Atomic Inspectors
Made it as secret as possible
Lied over and over again on their quest for ballistic missiles
Kill and torture anyone opposed to their regime
Finance and arm proxies to go after Israel for decades

and some have the audacity that they want the nuclear bomb for deterramce?

Wait are you referring to the p.o.s. dictatorship?

Our Freedom.

lol none of your “undeniable facts” disprove anything about the motivations that Iran wants a nuclear weapon for deterrence and power.

I mean to be fair they got to see first hand what happens when you don’t have a nuke, it’s a pretty good reason to get some.

But that’s what we did earlier, “completely obliterated” was bandied about. So if they were already close again that was in fact a total failure. Or Netanyahu has been lying to get us to attack them for his own ends (most likely).

Iran has been “weeks away” for years and years now. Yet somehow it never materialized. And no one had to bomb them.

Crude oil has been creeping back up since the ceasefire announcement. It’s back to nearly $100/bbl after getting near $90.

That tells you how the markets are feeling about the ceasefire and Strait opening.

The bitter sweet part of this: Texas (the state and numerous businesses within) is going to make so much money off this.

Bitter: war
Sweet: money

In the short term, but if it drives us into a global recession, no one wins.

True dat. :joy:

That said, given that this is viewed as a (relatively) short term geopolitical issue, the riches will all flow to execs and shareholders. It won’t get below that.

There won’t be some big ramp up in activity based on it.
