If it seems like I am anti-immigrant, I’m not. My in-laws and their families both emmigrated from Mexico. They were vaccinated also, and they assimilated very nicely.

Immigrants can certainly bring it here and it can spread amongst them. That’s always been true though.
Ya’ll can have it. We’re in a finger-pointing exercise now, and the solution is multi-faceted. It’s time to get back to sports for me. My kids were vaccinated, as was I. I’m not defending the anti-vaxxers; if they’re your scapegoat, then keep beating the drum and see if you can convince them to vaccinate their families. Good luck.

Why is that? Is it because they are specifically anti vaccination or is it because they lack proper healthcare? Or the general distrust of healthcare from the historical abuses like the Tuskegee experiments etc?
My guess, it is the latter two reasons more than the anti vaccination, but I could be wrong.
The fact of the matter is, vaccinations and herd immunity stops the spread, no matter what the source of the infection being introduced to the population is.
The reasons ‘why’ make little difference if you’re having a conversation about the unvaccinated. The unvaccinated were the subject matter and the reasons ‘why’ are irrelevant when talking about the spread of measles and tuberculosis or any other easily prevented disease or sickness. We need the 95% vax rate, period.
The anti-vaxxers have just as valid reasons (or excuses) as anyone else. You may not think so but it’s their body, their right. Sound familiar?
