Thats not true …compare our $2 billion + Endowment (once the check clears) to the state flagship schools of the SEC many genetations older than UH…and a higher priority state funding wise
Re: cities with millionaires???: there’s little to no correlation as none of these cities seem to have top funded P2 programs…because many millionaires choose to support their respective undergrad colleges in smaller locales where they continue to send their children & their money.
Agree. I don’t see where the geography has to correlate. I.e. Millionares can live in Houston yet choose to send their money to places other than Houston.
The point is that Houston is a lot richer than people think. There should be plenty of money available. But it’s the chicken or egg. Can we get donors/companies to invest before any success or do we have to be successful first.
Do we have enough UH graduates and alumni in those Fortune 500 companies to persuade them to donate?
I used to work for a company that had season tickets for the Astros, Rockets, Dynamo, and Texans but they never bought into the local colleges.
Doesn’t matter, it’s advertising for their companies. Companies like to associate themselves with winners. Look at Exxon and Shead.
The Bama/SEC fans I work with here are already quietly “scared” or at least “concerned” about UT joining the SEC. They know UT has all the money in the world, and as someone said to me, “unlike the Aggies, UT isn’t stupid.”
I told one of my partners that it is only a matter of time before Bama, Tennessee, and UGA are on probation. Just watch.
You know the best thing about this list? We are way ahead of Dallas!!!
Suck it clowns.
Man really reaching on this one. Lol
Let them have their fun. They’ll always hate us.
