Mercy Miller

If he goes he goes… we’ll still be winning here.

That being said I think he stays so he can play in the NBA one day…

Hope you are right. I thought his dad was taking over the head coaching job at UNO, but I just now saw he has an operations spot. So my bad

Didn’t they just get in trouble for players betting?

Basically head coach with his ego :joy:

Davis was caught in between a rock and a hard place - dad worked at tsu and the kid basically spent all of his time there as he was home schooled or something like that -

Kid commits to UH early and some didn’t care for that but then dad wants to play hard ball in contract negotiations and they called his bluff. Got the kid to decommit and made it seem he was all in for tsu to help in negotiations but they went on and let him go to Detroit as his old next door neighbor was the AD - both ended up being fired as Davis couldn’t get the same type of kids there as he failed tremendously- the kid ended up scoring alot as he wasn’t going to do that at UH

The future is up to Mercy. He knew this would be tough and he would have to work hard, he has a ways to go, but if he wants to be big time, he has to step it up. There is talent coming in behind him that sets this team up for another great run, it is up to Mercy if he wants to be a part of it.

All I can do is laugh at how premature any of this is

The only way we expand to 9 man rotation is two bigs coming off the bench with two guards.
We aren’t likely to play three guards.

I think it’s a bit presumptuous to assume his days are coming to an end at UH, but I agree that he hasn’t looks good on the court in limited minutes.

Offensively, I just think he needs to regain his confidence. You can see the potential in his ability to get his shots and score. On the other hand, he has a long ways to go defensively. He not only looks lost at times on the rotations, but his effort and intensity doesn’t seem to be there either. Regardless, he’ll need to step it up a notch or twice if he wants to earn consistent playing time.

I just want the kid to play to his potential. He’s 0 for 13 from the field in conference play.

You guys need to stay calm and let these guys grow. Obviously hes not getting minutes but coach knows who he is. We need experience on the floor as well and mercy will have it.

Again judging a kid by garbage time min. lol
He came from a place where he always had the ball in his hands and needed no conscious.
Unless the most important thing for him is to be closer to his dad, he will run it back with his brothers.

It is not an indictment on the kid to say he has got to get better.

Every Cougar that has come through this program you could say that about.

I know we are enthusiastic about this recruiting class but we will be saying that about them as well.

That’s is far from what I am referencing.

You claim to follow him, but you obviously don’t/haven’t based on your post. Go research and read his RECENT quotes to get true perspective on how he feels as a Cougar.

The fact that he is even getting minutes as a true frosh bodes well for his future here…

Okay. I am out of here. Will continue to lurk but not willing to put up with nonsense for stating my opinion.

What regression of a role? He’s a freshman he’s been in that role all year.

he might not end up being cutting for the big 12 but saying he lacks the intestinal fortitude and unwilling is a bit bizarre considering he still chose to come here straight out of highschool when there’s a dozen of schools where he could still play for a tournament mainstay, get an NIL bag, and not train like a navy seal before he gets acclimated to the facilities and campus :sob:
